-8 33in perfect for 12yr old

My 12 yr old had a -10, 29 inch icon that he outgrew from his 11u season. So for spring 2024 we got the heavier -8 Louisville Meta which is end loaded compared to the center balanced icon and he began to favor that. I didn’t love it though. I could see the drag in his swing from the new weight and en
d weight of the bat. He started hitting more dinky grounders so as not to get under balls and pop out. That deflated his confidence a bit and led him into a hitting slump. By late spring his coach let him use a longer, heavier center balanced bat that seemed to help so after a season we got the new icon -5 so slightly heavier, center balanced, composite and 2 inches longer. This helped a TON coming from the drag in the swing of the end loaded Louisville Meta bat and pulled him out of his slump and into hitting deep bombs over center field with ease. I’m not usually one to say it’s the bat, but in this case I do think the heavier weight and center balancing with of course proper length helped since he likes to line up a little farther from home than most. The material of these icons makes the balls float!

Bat came advertised as new and was chipped and broken in several pieces. After reading some reviews it seems they chip fast so we will be purchasing another bat and returning this clearly used one.

I love the stability of this bat especially when other bats are so fragile. This bat has a great balance, great pop, and a great look. Very happy!

This is a great bat! My son loves it. He likes it's pop, balance, and look. He has been using it for a few months and so far the bat has proven to be everything I hoped.

This is by far the best bat we have purchased!!

My son plays 8u travel ball and he already hits great with his catx bat. But the way this bat has his swing following through is amazing! It’s light, and the pop is there! Best purchase we have made yet!
