  • Amazing Light Show!
Style: Empire State
This 3D puzzle is quite challenging to work on. The corner pieces must be folded. The changing light is quite amazing to watch once you are done with it! We enjoyed building this 3D puzzle, it's quite a remarkable design, very similar to the real one in New York. Good quality and fun product for family! ... show more

  • A good time not perfect but a fun project for a rainy day.
Style: Empire State
I would give 4 1/2 stars but that isnt an option. Its actually really easy to put together as far as figuring out what goes where on a difficulty scale ID say its 2.5 out of five. That wasn't much of a challenge in my opinion. The challenge is getting the flipping pieces to fit together and stay together. The corners like everyone says is the biggest pain in the buttocks. It can be done of course. Also when you get to the top the number don't actually go in order of how its put together. That was probably the toughest to figure out as far as what pieces go where. Its a lot like a recipe if you follow each piece, they all go in order until you get to the very top section. Then you are a little on your own to figure out but the pattern on the building will help you there. Now I had a problem with the two side pieces at the bottom popping off every five seconds no matter what I did. I eventually just super glued them into place because every time you picked the thing up one side would pop off you put it on then the other side would pop off. So like all the other reviews have said. The corners are just gonna piss you off so just plan on that part. Other than that its a good rainy day afternoon project. Honestly kids could probably put it together faster than adults can. I think anyone puzzle minded 10 and up could do this one. Separate your pieces according to number like in your directions and that really makes it go faster. ... show more

  • Nice display model for a kid's room with added pride-of-assembly
Style: Empire State
This is not really a puzzle. It's a model, in that although the plastic pieces are in the typical interlocking shapes of puzzle pieces, each piece is numbered and the included visual assembly instructions are pretty clear. That said, the assembled result is of decently impressive size and the best feature of all is the multi-colored LED light & battery (3 AAA not included) box that fits in the base and does a surprisingly good job of lighting the building from within as it cycles through a range of at least a half dozen pleasing colors, simulating the real structure's night-time lighting (if the room is dark). The plastic 'puzzle' pieces fit together well enough but feel a bit wobbly during construction. However, by the time the several included plastic collars are fitted and the whole structure topped off with the radio tower/antenna pieces the whole thing ties together pretty well with the result being a nice display piece for a kid's room. Although an avid Lego fan, my 8 year old boy was initially a bit put off by the task, but after I assembled the first 20% or so he eagerly stepped in and was able to complete the project himself with only a little help fitting the top couple of plastic collars. We are both pleased with the result, and the assembly project aspect gave him a sense of pride and attachment vs. just receiving something equivalent as a fully complete toy model. ... show more

  • Cool but…
Style: Empire State
Purchased this gift for an avid puzzle enthusiast. I was surprised and disappointed the pieces were numbered. No challenge for a pro.

  • Awesome fun 3D puzzle
Style: Empire State
I really enjoyed this 3D puzzle. It was a nice challenge but not too difficult for an adult. It assembles beautifully. Pieces fit securely. I did use some glue in spots. Probably don't need to but it makes it stronger and it helps make the whole thing perfect in the end. One thing to keep in mind. Some of the pieces fit into the wrong location so if you do use glue make sure that everything is in the right place AND make sure that you can install the next parts before you glue anything. I had a lot of fun. I don't know how hard or easy it would be for a teen. ... show more

  • Beautiful Effect after it is put together but very hard ...
Style: Empire State
Beautiful Effect after it is put together but very hard to manage this one because the pieces don't fit well. There was one piece that was totally broken off and I had to tape it to the adjacent piece. My 15-year-old (with autism) loves these and is very proficient at completing them but he struggled to get these pieces to stay together and I ended up helping because while the concept is good, unlike many other Ravensburger 3-D puzzles, it is not constructed well and the pieces don't fit flawlessly. ... show more
