  • Works great, but as noted by others, the tightening screws are too short to be used easily
Color: Black
Everything fit together well, and the picture quality is great. I have one older monitor that only has VGA and DVI inputs, and an ancient MAC, and a newer work Windows laptop. Working from home suddenly with the shutdown meant I had to cobble together a shared monitor system somehow from these pieces. Otherwise, I would have to keep switching cables and my one dual port adapter from one to the other each time I switched computers. In looking for a solution, I only saw expensive video splitter cables that had adapters that would have worked with both of my computers. So getting this set of two DVI/HDMI adapters seemed a good option for the price. With it I am able to directly connect the Windows computer DVI to HDMI using one of the two adapters, leaving me a spare to take on the road. This is great as I won't have unplug the adapter and personal cable I'm using at home, since I can take the spare and my work supplied HDMI cable to use with the work computer and TV and monitor set-ups that I encounter at various sites I go to for work. Additionally, I can keep my personal computer (the MAC) hooked up to the monitor, though I'm using my old VGA cable through the VGA port on my dual-port adapter. It's not pretty, but it all works and I don't have to plug and unplug everything, now I just switch (two clicks) through the monitor's input menu to change. ... show more

  • Worked on my Lenovo docking station
Color: Black
I bought myself two new Dell monitors to use with my Lenovo laptop docking station. I didn’t realize until I was setting things up that the monitors only had vga and hdmi inputs and my docking station only had vga and dvi. I tried to do one in the bag on the docking station and one in the hdmi port on the laptop itself, but it would only show one or the other and not both at the same time (I think it was not meant to have dual screens with one plugged into laptop and one into dock). Sooo I panic and start researching, and with relief I find this item where I get two adapters for a super great price, and can route my existing hdmi cable while I’m waiting for the adapter and then when it gets here next day (yay one day shipping!!!) plug the adapter into the dock and the hdmi to adapter. It immediately started working and color looks great!! Only complaint is the tiny metal screws are really hard to twist, would prefer a more user friendly option for that. But it works, and resolved my issue for a few dollars and minimal effort, so I’m thrilled. ... show more

  • Tight, quality adapter at a great price
Color: Black
I have an old Panasonic Plasma with a DVI input. Needed to plug my new Blu Ray player into it. The old HDMI to DVI cable I had in my "wire box" just couldn't handle the signal. Lots of noise in the picture. So I got this adapter and a HDMI Cable 10 FT (4K UHD HDMI 2.0 Ready) - Braided Cord). It worked! The difference was night and day. The adapter fit snugly. I found the knurled screws easy to tighten with my fingers. The HDMI cable holds tight in the adapter, even though it is pointed down and fighting gravity. Love this adapter and it's nice they sell them in pairs. Always good to have a spare and the price is so low that I would have paid the same for one. High quality item at a low price. Thanks. I'm going to watch some new discs on my old TV. (P.S. I was paid nothing for this review) ... show more

  • Had problems
Color: Black
The picture quality seemed okay for the price, but the issue lies with performance. For some reason the connection caused errors on the laptop it was connected to. To test it out, we tried it on different monitors and PCs and same issues occurred. Tried different connections without the adapter and it worked, but we needed it for a laptop with only HDMI. Applications on the different computers would have issues. Couldn’t close windows, couldn’t minimize or maximize them. Could be defective. Will return for refund and get a different adaptor or DVI to HDMI cable like other ones we used. ... show more

  • My Bad - Resolution Limit Way Too Low
Color: Black
The resolution limitations are clearly posted in item description, so fault lies strictly with me for not paying close enough attention. That said, it really didn't occur to me that resolution would be limited at all. This is a High Def adapter, for DVI/HDMI, so such a low capability is pretty shocking. The adapter seems to be well made and, if you don't require resolutions higher than 1920x1200, this might prove OK. The screws that anchor the adapter in place are not slotted on the ends and, since they are so small (in diameter), they are pretty hard to snug up. Note, however, that you can get the Amazon Basics adapter for $3.20 less and there are no limitations on resolution and the screws are larger and slotted, making them much easier to attach/secure. ... show more

  • Older HD Thrift Store Monitor Comes To Life
Color: Black
I frequent the thrift stores quite a bit. Amazingly you see computer monitors. I stray from the monitors with only VGA. Instead I look for the ones with DVI. I am careful to bring a Raspberry Pi computer, and the DVI to HDMI adaptor to test the monitors before I buy them. All sales are final, there’s no returns at the thrift store. This DVI to HDMI adaptor works great. But...always remember that DVI is HD, however there is no audio in DVI, only HDMI. And a DVI to HDMI will still yield no sound. No biggee, just run a separate audio cable, or some PC speakers. On average I pay only $5 to $10 for a DVI HD monitor at the thrift store. This DVI to HDMI adaptor works great, great picture, high resolution. I am thrilled that I get two adaptors with my purchase. If I had any complaint. With the monitor in the picture, the DVI faces down, so the adaptor is not an issue. However, if you have a DVI plug that faces out on the back of the monitor, it sticks out a little. Relatively minor problem. ... show more

  • Worked to connect an HDMI monitor to a DVI port on a graphics card.
Color: Black
My video card came with a DVI port, HDMI port, and a Displayport on the back. I wanted to create a dual monitor display, but the monitors only had HDMI connections, so I was short one HDMI slot on my video card. This went into the DVI port on the graphics card, I plugged a standard HDMI cable into it, and everything worked beautifully. ... show more
