  • Seals cracks effectively, seems like it will last, easy for DIY!
I had three vertical cracks in a basement foundation that I wanted to seal before putting XPS insulation over them. Only one crack has let small amounts of water in previously. Based upon how the product worked, I do not anticipate that small amount of water to be present again. I am going to leave that section of wall exposed. If the seal did not work, I will be sure to update the review. I started the process by attaching the ports over the cracks I intended to seal. I mixed a small amount of the epoxy rolled the bottom of the port through the epoxy and stuck it over the crack. Make sure you have as much ventilation as you can because the epoxy did have a strong smell but it dissipated in a few hours. Also make sure the hole in the port is not sealed with epoxy. Plan to work quickly and do not mix large amounts of the epoxy at a time as it dries quickly. Once I had all of the ports on, I used the epoxy to start sealing the crack. I mixed enough for about 2-4 feet at a time. Remember to put extra around the ports to make sure they are sealed good. After you get all of the cracks sealed, I let it harden for about 3 hours. I then used the squirt bottle to get water into the crack per the directions. I did differ slightly in that I squirted water in each port to test for leaks nearby (marked the spots with a marker) and found 4 that needed extra sealer. After I patched the leaks, I had to let it cure again. Out of the 3 tubes of sealer, I only used about a 1 & 1/4 to seal the cracks. It was now time to inject the poly urethane resin. This part was somewhat messy so make sure you have floor protection and old clothes on. It is somewhat satisfying to see the material come out in the ports above. One caution though, when you pull the tube from the port, it is going to continue to come out the tube, port, and at least the port above. You need to be quick getting the tube on the higher port and the lower port capped. An extra set of hands at this part I think would make a difference. The supplied toolbox was grey and not yellow (not that it matters). Also, there was a small tube of quick adhesive but I'm not sure what that was for. ... show more

  • Good
This is a good product and I am really happy with it. The urethane didn’t swell up as much as I thought it would and also I ended up with way more epoxy compared to urethane when done (wish there were 2 more containers of the foam urethane).
