  • The best tip for mounting these lights !!!!!!!! Read before you install, so much easier.
Size: Small Color: Bronze-etched Glass
Easy to install once you figure out the stacking order of the parts that thread onto the coupling. Order i used was end cap placed to the coupling, then the threaded rod screwed into the coupling with a dab of blue locktite and snugged up with a pliers, then the hollow barrel, followed by the other end cap, large steel washer, large white rubber washer. ……….. now the secret to the easy install. The globe hole is larger than the threaded rod. Large enough to slip an o ring over the rod to hold all the above pieces on the rod in order . By doing so you can then mount the fixture without having to fumble around putting all the above pieces in place while installing the glass globe and all the pieces below the globe at the same time. ……once the wiring was connected and the base bolted to the ceiling it is alot easier to install the glass globe on the stem tight to the big white rubber washer held on the stem by the o ring, then the little white rubber washer, the little steel washer, the hex jam nut, the decorative bottom cap , and finally the bottom threaded ball. Much easier to use the oring to hold the parts above the globe on the stem , mount the fixture to the ceiling , and then mount the globe and parts below the globe to complete the install. I did not have an oring so i used clear plastic tubing from the hardware store and cut a 1/8” width off the end. The i.d. Was 1/4” . Whatever you use to hold the top pieces in place as described in the order above when your done test the globe fit so the globe center hole slides over the oring or in my case the small band of clear 1/4” i.d. Plastic hose. I stretched the hose a bit by putting it over the end of a needle nose pliers and opening the jaws up . Made it alot easier to slide over and down the threaded rod to the large rubber washer. The last tip is to measure the two bolts that hold the lamp base to the ceiling and get the bolts mounted and tightened before you even mount the base plate to the ceiling electric box. We used 75 watt equivalent bulbs , 13 watts each, 2700 kelvin , 1100 lumin G.E. Bulbs from Lowe’s and also put the lights on a dimmer. Bulbs were plenty bright and in our case 100 watt bulbs would have been too much. If you follow the above assembly ….. it will also be a whole lot easier to remove the globe for cleaning or replacing bulbs . Everything from the big white rubber washer to the ceiling will stay in place by the oring or small slice of clear plastic tubing, making the globe much easier to remove and put back up. The last two pictures are of the flush mount fixture( oring or tubing works on flush or semi flush threaded rod center assembly) with the bulb bases if you look closely you can see the clear piece of tubing on the center threaded rod next to the rubber washer that is just above where the white glass globe will be when light is completely assembled. An o ring of the right size would work just as well . ... show more

  • Really pleased with the installed light fixture
Size: Large Color: Bronze-etched Glass
We're very pleased with the light fixture and would buy again. However, the installation instructions are not the best IMO. I recommend attaching the outside ring last instead of first to avoid the weight when attempting to anchor the lamp pedestal to the crossbar assembly in the ceiling. I had to buy longer mounting screws because the original mounting screws were too short. I found it very difficult to put the mount screws through the two lamp pedestal holes. I also recommend inserting the light bulbs before attaching the glass shade. Be sure to confirm that your dimmer switch can work with the bulbs you choose to use. We chose to use 60w equivalent LED bulbs and therefore had to replace our previous dimmer with a new LED capable dimmer. We chose a Lutron Model #DVCL-153PR-WH. Special thanks to my wife for her help every time I needed four arms and hands to make this all fit together. Installations complete and all's working well. ... show more

  • Quality fixture at a great price...
Size: Small Color: Antique Nickel
Beautiful light; it replaced a flush-mount fabric shade light that directed all the light to my dark-wood floors. I wanted to reflect light off the white ceiling and crown molding. I've owned Quoizel fixtures before and was pleased to see the same quality and well-composed instructions. This piece is not easy to install solo, however. The glass bowl isn't easily removed and re-attached, but you can replace bulbs and/or clean the glass without ever removing it. I only put two out of three bulbs in, but I'll likely get a third Philips Hue bulb to balance it out. Great, quality fixture at an awesome price. ... show more

  • Lots of pleasant light. Good looking. Pretty simple installation.
Size: Large Color: Antique Nickel
We installed this over the table in our kitchen. It puts out a lot of light (we have four 9-watt LED bulbs in it for a total of about 3200 lumens). The glass shade is translucent, but the shade is also about 10" from the ceiling so an equal amount of light goes up and bounces off the ceiling. The combination of up lighting and down lighting provides a lot of ambient light without glare. The design of the fixture is simple -- not too ornate and not too spartan. Installation was pretty simple. The instructions could have been a bit clearer, and I had to bend one of the metal arms slightly so it didn't rub on the glass, but those were pretty minor issues. Overall, assembly and installation took about half an hour, which is par for the course when it comes to light fixtures. I installed this light about six months ago, and we've been very satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Lovely light, but the glass is a bit off color
Size: Small Color: Antique Nickel
Really a lovely light. Good quality. Good design - looks just like it did in the pictures. Love the way it looks in the family room. Some fixtures only look good from the side (as pictured by most manufacturers) and don't look great from down below. But this light looks great from all angles. The only thing I was worried about was the glass dome. It looks off white/dingy in teh picture. But at least one review states that it looks white in person. I found that with 40W standard bulbs it really does look off white/dingy in person. And since our family room has very little natural light, that's a big negative for me. But if you don't mind using three 60W bulbs for a very bright look, then the dome does look almost white and gives the room a crisper/cleaner look. ... show more

  • Artwork on the ceiling..
Size: Small Color: Bronze-etched Glass
I received this fixture and everything was as advertised..Packed well. All parts were there. Instructions that we found lacking..We found it easier to assemble the stem assembly, washers, shade cap and finial as one unit and screwed it on to the ceiling canopy all at one time rather than trying to hold everything together over our heads. This was a two person job for sure. But so worth the stiff necks..I am using 2-100 watt led light bulbs and it casts so much light that 3 bulbs was hurting my eyes. This fixture is a piece of art. We love it.So, much so I ordered another for my dining area.. ... show more
