I'd been considering a monitor desk light for some time now, but I could not justify the price tag giong as high as $200 on the BenQ "original" that sorta started it off with these types of lights. This was a couple years ago now and clearly today there are many different versions of similar monitor lights on the market, the Quntis being among them, and which appears to be a fairly close copy of the BenQ light. I found this one on Amazon, priced around $40 for the non-remote (remote being rather superfluous in my opinion) version and did a little comparison research to see if this might be a good fit. There are many similar monitor lights out there, some cheaper and going as low as ~$25 and some obviously more expensive. I figured the Quntis was a good middle ground price-wise and took a shot to see if this would fit the bill. Indeed it does! Whether or not, or how close a copy to the BenQ the Quntis is I don't know for sure, as I've never seen the alternatives, but I can say this one is very well designed and well constructed, some plastic and also some metal in the construction and on close inspection the quality is definitely there. The mounting system is simple and functional and adapted perfectly to my HP Omen gaming monitor, which I would say has a somewhat non-standard profile shape and thickness, at least at the top where the light mounts. No problem, the mount is easily adjustable and rests perfectly and securely on my top monitor edge with full confidence that it's not going anywhere, or is any way unstable or wonky. The light controls on top of the light are easily accessible, operated by touch and the tactile "buttons" are shaped so they can be easily felt when operating the light. There are stepless controls for brightness and color temperature, as well as a sort of "auto" button that adjusts the brightness based on the ambient light in the room, which is nice. The lightbar throws a very nice pool of light on your keyboard and desk space in front of, and not directly ON, your monitor - right where you need it - without any glare, or being too harsh. Again, the quality, brightness and temperature of the light is easily adjustable to your liking. The monitor mounting system is sensible, simple, highly adjustable and highly functional. Lamp is powered by USB and in my case plugs right into a USB port on my monitor and totally invisible, hidden behind. Anyway, I guess I might have got a little carried away with this review, but tldr; the Quntis is an excellent monitor light and if this is something you've been looking at, I don't think you can go wrong with this one. ... show more

    • Clears up desk space while adding functionality

I purchased this to clear up some desk space. With a large dual monitor setup it was difficult to place a desk lamp without blocking some screen. I also required a cordless remote as I didn’t want to fumble around in low light searching for an on button. This unit does not have a back light and since my desk is not up against a wall that is not important in my case. I do not notice any screen glare. The monitor clamp works well on my thin bezel monitor setup as it has spacers available for a wide range of monitor thicknesses. As I mentioned I have dual monitors. They are 32” of curved design. This light bar is wide enough to both support this monitor setup and provide enough light to perform my tasks. I prefer a low light room situation and have not found this light to be distracting in any way. The remote is adjustable for light temperature and brightness. This is done by rotating the body of the remote and the top. I have found sometimes when adjusting one I inadvertently change another, but once adjusted to my preference I have no need to further adjust it. A tap on top of the remote will turn the light on or off. Key takeaways…1. will work on curved monitors and dual setups.
