I was looking for a straw hat to fit over my dreadlocks. They hit my waist to mid butt cheek. Freeform, different lengths. I do property inspections and need some coverage from the sun. If I get through the summer without my husband taking it, I think it will be worth the $20 I paid for it. I saw some womens straw has that have a hole through the top that I can put my hair through when it's up in a bun. Box and hat were in perfect condition when it arrived. I searched and searched for a hat that would fit. I'm on the large side of 7.5 hat sizes (USA), so all the other wide-brim hats that I tried were too small. This XL is very comfortable. This straw hat is very comfortable to wear. I give credit to the elastic head band for its comfort. And, like all straw hats, it let's the breeze through very well, so it's very cool to wear in the sun. The crown keeps it shape even when placing/removing the hat, which I really like because that's how I put it on/off. I like the natural color. There are other brands with all kinds of designs and colors, but I wanted a natural-color straw hat without an inner liner. Plus, no liner helps to keep the hat lightweight. I can't say enough good things about the quality and performance of the hat. I will be buying more in the future. ... show more

Great hat and fits as expected! However, similar to other reviews I read the hat arrived with several broken pieces of straw from being stuffed in a box that was too small.     • Falls Apart But Can Be Fixed
I've had this hat for less than one summer. I wear it around the yard doing chores. The brim is falling apart because I have to grab it to put the hat on and off. However, I think this can be fixed. In addition to buying this cheap hat, spend another 5 to $7 on a can of rubber cement. Coat the entire brim with a thick coat of rubber cement. Let it dry for a day. That'll give you a hardy, rubberized brim that won't fall apart with grabbing. That'll save you 20 or 30 bucks buying a nicer one that has reinforcement in the brim. ... show more

Nice hat, not the most strong thing in the world i.e. dont pack it into your luggage it is definitely a straw hat i.e. you have to wear it and keep it safe from sitting on or smashing when not on your head. It breaths nice and seems to be pretty good on sun protection so far.

Hat looked good but the metal rivets around the string were already out of the hat when I received it. I tried to be careful when wearing it but if you put any pressure on the string it rips the hat. This is after two months of wearing with no more then a dozen days of use. I would have loved to contact the seller to see if they would send a replacement and see if I just got a bad one but I cannot figure out how to contact them since it has been more than 30 days. ... show more
