  • Good Zigbee stick
I bought this for use with Home Assistant. So far NO problems at all. Worked flawlessly with the rPi. Had it for several months and no issues.

  • Works well with Home Assistant
It has worked well with Zwave and Zwave plus devices (door sensors & smoke alarms) in our two-story 1400 square foot house, but not as well with the (zigbee) IKEA tradfri single buttons - can't tell if it's a HUSBZB-1 issue or IKEA issue. (I would give it a 5-star if I knew the zigbee portion worked better.) ... show more

  • works great to add Zigbee/ZWave to Homeassistant on RPi
Installed easily and worked quickly. I plugged into RPi4 and started converting my Phillips Hue, Samsung Smartthings, Ikea, anything else zigbee to this stick and got rid of all the hubs. HomeAssistant for the win. Updating the firmware is a big difficult if you don't have a linux PC around, but you can find someone who can do it for you. ... show more

  • Works with Home Assistant Virtual Machine running on Synology DSM 7
With all the YouTube videos out there explaining how to get this stick working on a Synology with DSM 6, or DSM 7, it seemed like a kinda-maybe. Part of the issue what those who got it working under DSM 6 in a VM, but then say that Synology stopped support for external USB devices in DSM 7. Then watching more YouTube videos that explained how to get it to work in DSM 7...well, it all seemed too complex to bother. Well, I was wrong, bottom line, it isn't too complex. I think because I choose to run it as a VM as opposed to a Docker instance made it all much easier. But more importantly, the Home Assistant Operating System now comes with these drivers ready for this device, so the integration works great. Please note, I am running the latest versions of such as of 1/5/2022. So...with DSM 7 running on my Synology, using the Virtual Machine Manager built-in to the operating system, I installed Home Assistant (version 2021.12.8 running on Home Assistant OS 7.1). The trick? 1. Physically install the stick in a USB slot on your Synology. 2. Stop your VM running your Home Assistant (it it is already running) 3. In the Synology VMM, select the VM for your Home Assistant instance and be sure that the "Silicon Labs HubZ Smart Home Controller" is selected by going to the Action menu, select Edit, then go to the Others tab, then select the Silicon Labs device for the USB Device drop-down there. 4. Select OK 5. Start your Home Assistant VM 6. In the Integrations for your Home Assistant, it should detect the Z-Wave JS and HubZ Smart Home Controllers. Let those install and you should be good to go to control Z-Wave and Zigbee devices. I hope this helps you! ... show more

  • Works with Homeassistant, but that's about it.
I bought this to be a one-stop-shop for my zwave and zigbee integrations for HomeAssistant. It was recognized immediately and worked relatively well but there were definitely times my sensors were not registering. I thought it was the sensor but after further digging I think it could've been this device. Additionally, after about a month of use I tried to use this for more advanced automations and tried to switch from the default Home assistant automations to Zigbee2MQTT and this device did not work out of the box. It requires a firmware update, which I attempted, but now the device is not recognized. I am going to continue troubleshooting but am already planning to switch to a Conbee and Zooz for zigbee and zwave respectively. This WORKS for homeassistant but NOT for Zigbee2MQTT. Or it requires more technical skill than I have to get it working. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Works flawlessly with the Sengled bulbs and Home Assistant
I bought it because the Sengled hub won't actually do anything if it can't access Sengled's servers and twice in one week they went down. This little thing lets you ditch the hub and Sengled's servers entirely and it is much faster and smoother than the hub ever was. I'd tried a few other brands before settling on Sengled's tunable white bulbs, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that three of the four brands were controllable with this, too. And by "fast" I mean the bulbs react within half a second, even when in other rooms. At first I wasn't thrilled with the range, but then found that both Zigbee and Z-wave can pass commands to a distant item through nearer ones. Turns out I had started adding bulbs on the far side of the house. I started with the ones nearest the controller and worked out, and everything has been flawless. While I'm using Home Assistant, I also tried this with OpenHAB and it works well with that software, too. ... show more

  • Just works
This was my first foray into home automation other than using Alexa and this stick works great! I've only used it for zigbee connections
