Description

Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 is the easiest way to create your estate plan, whether you're just getting started or you want to update your previous arrangements. This powerful software guides you through the process from beginning to end, giving you the practical and legal information you need to make the best decisions for you and your family. Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 includes: A customized estate plan, including a will, revocable living trust (individual and shared), health care directive, durable power of attorney for finances, and other essential documents An easy-to-use interview format that lets you complete documents at your own pace A user-friendly legal manual to answer common questions A team of lawyer-editors working to ensure each document reflects the laws of your state Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 is the original will-writing software, created and updated regularly by Nolo’s experts. Free legal updates will keep your program current through 2020. Technical support is also available. Here’s more about the documents you can make with Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 : Your Will: The heart of every estate plan is a will, also known as a last will and testament. This legal document puts you in control of who inherits your property and who would take care of your children if it were ever necessary. Without a will, state law determines these issues. Your will also allows you to name an executor (sometimes called a “personal representative”) to carry out your wishes. And you can appoint a trusted person to manage property left to young people. With Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 , you can revise and update your will whenever you like. Living Trust: Use a living trust to help your estate avoid probate after you die. Like a will, a living trust distributes property to the people you name. But unlike a will, property that passes through a living trust can be passed directly to your beneficiaries, without waiting for court approval -- saving your beneficiaries time and money. With Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 living trust, you can make an individual trust or make a shared trust with your spouse. You can also use the program to create revocations of trust (if you want to end your trust) and certifications of trust (so that you don’t have to show your entire trust to financial institutions). You can also use the trust restatement to update your trust as often as you like, without needing to retitle your property. Your Health Care Directive: Spare your loved ones difficult decisions by laying out your wishes for medical care (living will) and naming someone to carry out your instructions (power of attorney for health care). Your Durable Power of Attorney for Finances: A durable power of attorney ensures that someone you trust (called your "agent" or "attorney-in- fact") will be on hand to manage the many practical, financial tasks that will arise if you become incapacitated. For example, bills must be paid, bank deposits must be made and someone must handle insurance and benefits paperwork. In most cases, a durable power of attorney for finances is the best way to take care of tasks like these. Your Final Arrangements:Plan a funeral or other ceremony and ease the burden on your loved ones. Describe your preferences for burial, cremation, memorials, obituaries and more. Documents for Your Executor:Make sure your executor has all the forms and instructions necessary to do the job: checklists, letters, notices and claim forms. Information for Caregivers and Survivors: Organize your information so that your survivors don't have to. Use these documents to give them details about everything from bank accounts, to passwords, to the names of people you'd like contacted in the event of your illness or death. Letter to Survivors:Use the Letter to Survivors to leave your loved ones detailed explanations about your decisions. For example, you may want to let them know why you made certain gifts or named a particular person to be your executor. You can also use your letter to leave some general thoughts about your life. Personal Finance Documents: Over a dozen forms let you handle common financial situations, such as lending or borrowing money between friends or family, creating a bill of sale, and closing a credit card account. Home & Family Documents:Practical forms you can use every day to help run your home and keep your family safe, including authorizations and agreements, promissory notes, limited powers of attorney, and child and elder care forms. BONUS: With Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 you also get the e-book Special Needs Trust: Protect Your Child's Financial Future. Learn how to provide for a loved one with special needs without jeopardizing government benefits. Includes all of the forms and information you need to make a third-party special needs trust. Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 is designed to be used only in the United States of America, and its estate planning documents are not valid in Louisiana or U.S. Territories. Quicken Willmaker & Trust 2020 is reviewed regularly by Nolo’s expert attorneys. The 2020 edition includes many important legal and technical improvements. Automatic updates will keep your program current through 2020. Read more

  • GREAT Product To Help Direct & Conserve Your Estate!
I bought this in June 2013 & never got around to using it. A couple days after New Year 2024 celebration, I thought I should get down to business & get my house in order & figured I'd give a try to see if I could still use my 2023 version a try. Much to my surprise when I put in the 2023 code, it worked & I now have the 2024 version online! The interface is intuitive & pretty easy to follow. If you get stumped on an area you can skip it & come back later to complete. The online help & suggestions are very useful. I've got a decent size estate with property, multiple investment accounts, a couple of kids & 4 grandkids, plus my lovely lady & I want everyone to get what I want each to have when I kick the bucket, now how the prostate court wants to divvy things up & I will have this completely set up within the next 2 weeks using this great program! Oh yeah, I'll be saving THOUSANDS of dollars not paying a lawyer to do it, probably using templates or software they've bought online! ... show more

  • Simple and Effective for Basic Needs
This Will Maker and Trust software program proved to be exactly what I needed for drafting a basic will and trust. Its user-friendly interface made the process smooth and hassle-free. As someone with straightforward estate planning needs, I found it to be a perfect fit. However, I must emphasize that if your situation is complex or involves intricate legal matters, seeking professional advice from a lawyer is highly recommended. While this software is great for simplicity, it may not address all the nuances of a complex estate. Overall, this software gets the job done efficiently for those seeking a straightforward solution. ... show more

  • Code to download software does not work...NOLO figure this out!
Spent numerous phone calls and emails to NOLO to get them to send me a link for the software....the code in the book does not work. Very poor setup....this should be a purchase on Amazon that is then a direct download....like many other software purchases on Amazon. NOLO....get with the program...the time I spent talking with your customer service and emails cost you more than what I spent on the software....dumb! ... show more

  • The Trust Module is very limited
For the trust module I was unable to name more than 2 successor trustees, this seems to be a hard limit. Then further into the program when you are listing beneficiaries, you are not allowed to select "per stirpes, or per capita". The whole idea of estate planning is to plan for worst cases, so if I'm in the car with one of my adult children and we both get hit by a bus, his or her children (my grandchildren) are cut out and the estate goes to my other surviving adult children. I think the other modules within the program are okay, but if your going the DIY route this is not a solid solution. The writers of the software Should probably build it to do more, I looked and it appears the 2025 version will have the same limits, so probably not viable to use for making a trust for most people. I'm going to look at Legal Zoom as it appears to have more, but also going to get some bids from attorneys and certified legal document preparers. ... show more

  • I haven’t used it yet but have used earlier versions successfully.
I needed to update my will to keep it focused on my current needs. I am certain that it will serve me well knowing the past versions ability to do the job!

  • False Advertisement and Book Title. Software Not available online.
I purchased the Nolo Quicken Willmaker &Trust 2024: Book and Online Software Kit. When I tried to redeem the online software, the site does not have any page to download the software...instead it is asking for subscription fee. I sent a note to NOLO (techsupport) last week but still has no response. DO NOT buy NOLO books that said online software is included... The book also does not help that much without the software to create your own will since it did not provide examples on how to state your specific situation... book not useful without the software. ... show more
