I didn’t know about using these. I realized my van didn’t have any secure place to attach bow and stern lines. I thought these would be worth a try. The price was good and I questioned if they would be durable enough. My van has a short hood so worried they would slip out. They were perfect. These are so easy to use. Just like the pics show in the product description. Extremely sturdy. Used them several times with my kayak and held in place with zero issues. I purchased four 'just incase' one would break but I don't think that will be an issue.
