My aging box spring mattress set was well past its prime, and my sore back was a constant reminder that I needed better support. I recently upgraded to a firm memory foam mattress that provided great support, but I found it didn’t breathe as well as my old mattress, and I’d wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. I also missed the give and bounce of the springs. Accepting I was still in the market for a mattress, I decided to try this hybrid mattress from Wellynap. I’m pleased to report, this memory foam/innerspring combination hits the perfect sweet spot for me! The medium firm of the memory foam layers provide just the right amount of support. The individually pocketed inner springs provide buoyancy enough to make me feel like I’m sleeping on a cloud. And at 12 inches thick, this queen size mattress wraps me up and delivers me to the Sandman within minutes of my head hitting the pillow. The mattress arrives vacuum compressed and rolled for shipping. A warning cautions to stand clear when expanding, and they aren’t kidding. This mattress expands from a tightly compact package to nearly full size in seconds. The instructions advise giving it 48 to 72 hours to expand fully, which I did. The entire sleep surface is uniformly supportive. The breathable cover design keeps my temperature regulated, and I sleep more soundly through the night. This is a pretty comfortable mattress, soft yet firm, you don’t sink into the mattress like memory foam and it’s not hot like memory foam, the edges of the bed aren’t super sturdy like higher priced mattress so when sitting on the edge of the mattress is does dip quite a bit from your weight.
