I am so much more impressed with this than I thought. it is NOT easy to assemble and I won't pretend that it is but thankfully my husband is always willing to help the kids with anything like this. Once its done however... how charming!!! It has a box with a switch that lights up hanging chandeliers, tables inside to display the florals, a little bench outside of it as well as a sky blue bike to rest against the side. The instructions had some moments where they weren't clear on spacing/positioning but as a whole weren't confusing. The entire thing is beautiful and fun and well worth getting! Don't recommend getting for a kid though. It's very intricate and delicate in some places.

This is a long review! I ordered this a while back but I finally just got it put together. It is VERY VERY CUTE and VERY detailed!! I LOVE the light!! Yes, it is actually interchangeable with LEGO brand bricks! I checked just for the sake of curiosity. All the hinged spots that need to move, they move effortlessly. I'm 49 but, I have very little experience building brick sets. This is the first one I've built that was not LEGO brand. I think the instructions were fairly well done however, there were spots, particularly at the end, when assembling the roof and the sliding window on the roof AND the clear bricks on either end of the roof (I've added a photo of what I'm referring to), I got REALLY stuck and turned around! I am not a mechanical person. I had to have my bf, who is a machinist, put together the clear ends. I couldn't figure it out to save my life!!! When I made the 2 actual roof sections, it turns out I had them reversed. I'm not sure if that was me not reading correctly or the instructions accidentally printed in reverse. My bf pointed out that all of it was backwards, just by looking at it. Oops. That's the 4 stars. Why not 5 stars? Because this set uses space BETWEEN the studs!!! It's infuriating and confusing!!! I can't tell you how much time I spent counting studs on the photos vs the pieces in my hand. (Studs = the little round bumps.) In the 2 big and 4 med/small sets I've assembled that were actual LEGO brand, I don't recall a single one using the space between the studs to stick a piece. It's always attached to a stud. It turns out, that's why the clear roof spots my bf built were so confusing. They had pieces attaching in space between studs!! It's freaking obnoxious!! ALSO! The pieces, throughout the build, in random spots, don't always fit correctly. Like, you know a piece goes in a spot but it fits too tight so it throws everything else off. And MAKE SURE you assemble this directly onto a base plate!!! Don't build it THEN try to put it on one!! It's extremely difficult!!! Why do you want to do this? Because the bricks that hold the floor together do not overlap enough to hold it together well. It's really fragile. Had I realized this soon enough, I'd have built it directly onto a base plate. Honestly, I should've stopped, disassembled and reassembled it on the plate. It would've made things so much easier! Again, my bf did the best he could to stick the shop to the plate after we were done. I wasn't about to pull things apart after the fact, as frustrated as I was. Oh, because pieces fit so tightly, they pop off REALLY easily! So, he had to put stuff back on after he got it as attached to the plate as he could. FYI, if you use a green plate, it looks really cute. Like it's on a grass field. Final thoughts. There is a reason LEGO brand is so expensive!!!! Everything fits like it's supposed to and I FEEL the instructions are more concise. They're done better. *Disclaimer: I have fairly bad ADHD and dyslexia when it comes to numbers only! I have no doubt this was a contributing factor in my frustration. I'm not opposed to getting more of this brand in the future but, I need more practice with actual LEGO brand sets, first. There are some seriously cool sets from these guys! Don't be detured if you are good at building! Go for it! Just go into it knowing it has potential challenges. *This set made me not want to even think of getting the micro brick sets! I do NOT have the patience nor a magnifying glass light! It is a great set. Like others said, it is a bit more fragile than other building sets and the instructions can be difficult to see sometimes. So I would not recommend this set to younger kids. I love it as an adult though. It came with all the pieces, and it had extra flowers and smaller bits. The only thing is one of the pieces was not fully printed. The pieces are definitely small, and the colors in the instruction booklet could be slightly easier to differentiate, but overall it’s been a joy to build and have around. It’s a very cute and pretty set to make. I got it as a gift with my partner and built it with them. I normally love building lego brand so be aware that this is not officially lego. As a result it is a little harder than normal to fit pieces together. This was a great alternative since legos are typically much pricier. I would not recommend this for young kids because it is a good bit more difficult to construct. For adults this is great! ... show more

Unlike Legos, this set doesn’t have you cover breaks for stability. Every time we placed a piece three others would fall off. We ended up jumping ahead in the instructions to assemble the roof to help hold sides together. We were also missing a few pieces, and one support piece was melted on the bottom. We were able to make it work because the roof clicked into the top piece, holding it in place. The bucket handle was hard to put on and it refused to stay in place. The lighted brick is nice but the wire goes through a window in the back, which looks bad. Overall, it’s an okay set for the price but like I kept telling my 7 year old son over and over, it isn’t Lego. ... show more
