  • Functional yet not too expensive
The good news is this rack functions as it should and is value priced. The bad news is some design and material compromises were made to get to the price point. The metal tubing is adequate but not heavy duty. As for the sturdiness, it does have a bit of wobble but should be fine as long as you don't abuse it. If you plan to set it up and leave it in place it works fine. The foam padding is good quality. The foam on the top rail is split to accommodate the spacers and they used plastic tape to hold it together which is probably my biggest concern. It can hold up to 7 guitars assuming they are all relatively thin. If you are using it for acoustics or fat hollowbody guitars it would hold less. Overall I'm happy with it. ... show more

  • Foam compresses easily.
Overall, great rack to hold guitars. My issue is that the foam on the bars easily compresses and doesn't bounce back very easily. May replace the foam there with a pool noodle just to have some extra cushion.

  • Great for home use, not for touring.
Very easy to install (comes in a few large parts), sturdy, simple design that protects even nitro finishes! I have high end Fender Custom Shops and PRS Custom core guitars with very delicate nitrocellulose finishes and never an issue with this stand. Any nitro finish is soft so if overly concerned, put a microfiber towel down under the guitar touch points. It sits up nicely on any floor, even carpet, but realize your guitars will lean into this unit so allow a little space behind it if against a wall. It hold electrics and acoustics of most shapes and sizes, but note it is not easily adjustable. If you use each slot, your guitars will be snug so use care pulling in and out as there are no dividers except up near the headstock. I saw a few questions about portability or using at gigs....this is NOT designed to be taken down and transported to gigs or tough enough for the road. They make other portable versions of these that are sturdier and collapse down into a suitcase size portable case for gigs. For the price paid, this is a good value and nice product to leave in a music room or practice studio. It is of good quality but don't expect high end at this price. If you plan to treat this rough or move it often, this might not be the product for you. I managed to rid my practice space of 8 individual guitar stands and now every guitar is in one small area against a wall looking very professional. I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Better than I thought
How could this be better than I thought? Because I thought it would be really flimsy and wobbly. Because I thought it would put the guitars too close together. Because I thought I wouldn’t like it. But I do!! Now, with that, let me say that sitting still, it does a fabulous job of holding the guitars. I don’t believe it is meant to be moved while the guitars are sitting in it (yes I tried to “scootch” it over a little when I first set it up. Don’t do that). Second, if you have tremolo bars on your guitars, then yes, they get a little close together. And acoustics obviously take up a lot more room. But I have 4 electrics, a bass, and 1 acoustic in mine and it is working beautifully. ... show more

  • So far so good
Shipped fast. Fairly easy assembly you do need your own tools though. Decent quality of build for the price.

  • Fine for home or light use, not for steady gigs
I got this 7-gang unit because I needed to organize instruments at home. For that, it's a good value for the money. However, it's definite a light weight unit and I wouldn't think of using it on a tour or on a string of gigs. For that kind of use, you'd need something heavier built with stronger joints. If someone fell against it or gave it a good shove, it would fold or bend pretty easily. I have solid body, semi-hollow and hollowbody basses. I have a separate 4-unit stand which works best for the hollows and semi-hollows. This 7-unit stand is OK for solid body basses that don't take up as much room on the stand. I included a picture showing the distance between the instruments. If you want to load this rack full, you need to take some care in removing and installing guitars or basses in it so you don't scratch an instrument on either side. All that said, for $50 this is a good value if you use it for home storage. It's convenient, holds the instruments securely enough, and it's worth the money. ... show more
