  • Amazing set of irons!
Hand Orientation: GEN6 XP Chrome Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, GW
For reference I was a 15 handicap before I got these clubs. As advertised, the distance gained with these irons is pretty incredible. I’ve been able to drop a club and still hit just as far as with my previous iron set. The look and feel of the clubs is fantastic. My first round with them I broke 90 for the first time ever. I’m sitting at a 12 handicap now! The weird thing to get used to is the sound. When you hit an iron shot you don’t get that explosive sound like on my old clubs, but the distance was there and then some. I strongly recommend these clubs to anyone looking for more distance and a more forgiving club. ... show more

  • Forgiving with lightweight shafts.
Hand Orientation: GEN6 XP Chrome Right Shaft Material: Graphite Flex: Senior Configuration: 5-PW, GW
I got these clubs in Senior Flex with Graphite shafts because at 75, I just do not have a high swing speed any more. I can say I very much appreciate the large heads and lightweight graphite shafts on these irons which provide great feel. That has helped me for a more consistent swing. And when struck correctly the clubs have added 15-20 yards to my ball flight. The machining on the clubheads is top notch and the grooves are cut straight and clean. I can't say much about the clubhead technology but they look very sophisticated. In particular, the bounce and design of the Gap wedge and PW have really helped my short game. Its not great yet but is certainly better. The rubbery, regular size grips are offer good feel, although I will probably get them regripped to a larger size to help maintain correct grip tension (I take an XL glove). My regular, very experienced golf buddy has also tried these irons. He is still using old, steel shafted Pings and he loves these PXG clubs. I think these clubs probably deserve 5 stars but since I don't have the technical knowledge to truly evaluate the specs, I settled at 4 stars. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Really nice set of irons.
Hand Orientation: GEN6 XP Chrome Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Regular Configuration: 4-PW, GW
My golfer husband says this: "I have been playing the same set of irons for many years. They are over 15 years old which means the lofts were very weak. My 5 iron loft is the same as the 7 iron in this set. My concern was how that would affect ball flight. I am a high-ball hitter so I was concerned these PXG's would flatten out the flight too much. That didn't happen. I can still hit it high and maintain the distance. It was really strange at first to hit the 7 iron in this set about the same as my old 5 iron. This was true throughout the whole set. The club head is slightly bigger and the topline a little thicker so set-up took some getting used to. It didn't take long to adapt to the different look. The harder part was adjusting to the increased distance using a higher numbered club. The forged head feels really great on solid hits. I can still work the ball and miss hits are not as punitive as they are with my older set. I went with the steel shafts so no report on how the graphite shafts feel. These PXG's are a great set of clubs that I plan on playing for a long time. The PXG staff was very helpful answering my questions." ... show more

  • Wow, nice irons
Hand Orientation: GEN6 P Chrome Right Shaft Material: Graphite Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW, GW
The feel of these clubs in your hand are very well balanced. The appearance and quality of these clubs are top notch. Excellent value for the money. After some use now, I do feel like I’m hitting the ball a longer distance.

  • Might be a Terrible Player
Hand Orientation: Black Ops Right Shaft Material: Steel Flex: Stiff Configuration: 5-PW
I must just be a terrible player because my game was on par with when I first started playing. Definitely not game improving clubs at least for me. I’ll keep trying and see if it changes.

  • The thinnest iron face in golf just got thinner.
Hand Orientation: GEN6 P Chrome Right Shaft Material: Graphite Flex: Regular Configuration: 4-PW, GW
One of the standout features of the PXG GEN6 golf clubs is their ability to be customized. This customization is essential, allowing golfers to tailor their clubs to their personal preferences and playing style. The inclusion of a removable weight port adds to the customization options, enabling players to adjust the weight distribution for optimal performance. In fact, there are over 200 locations that offer in-person fittings, and the price for this service is very reasonable. The PXG GEN6 clubs are designed with specific types of golfers in mind. The "P" in the model stands for "players," indicating that these clubs are geared towards golfers with lower handicaps. Those with mid to higher handicaps might find the XT clubs more suitable, as they are larger and more forgiving, helping to improve performance for less experienced players. These clubs feature a chrome-on-chrome design, which not only offers a classic and elegant look but also ensures durability and longevity in appearance. The unique one-piece tungsten design contributes to both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the clubs. These are the softest and fastest irons PXG has ever made. The clubs provide a superior feel and feedback, essential for players seeking precision and control. What sets these clubs apart is PXG's innovation in making the thinnest iron face in golf. The GEN6 clubs boast a club face that is 15% thinner than previous versions. This thinner face allows for more flex, resulting in higher ball speeds and a more forgiving MOI (moment of inertia). Even when I don’t contact the ball in the sweet spot on the club head, the ball still responds favorably. Also included in the set is a "W" Gap Wedge. My understanding is that this club has a head angle that falls between a Sand Wedge and a Pitching Wedge. This additional club has improved my short game by providing an extra tool for various situations. The grips on these clubs have significantly improved my game. By aligning my thumb with the PXG logo on the grip, I have been able to force my hips to rotate more during my swing, utilizing my body’s force rather than just my arms. This adjustment has noticeably increased the distance of my shots. Since acquiring these clubs, I have noticed an increase in my enjoyment of the game. Fellow players familiar with the PXG brand but unfamiliar with the GEN6 version have approached me, curious about these impressive clubs. The weight being centered at the very bottom of the club head is one of my favorite features, providing a fast, balanced, and stable feel during swings. PXG’s custom fit process is unique, allowing for the modification of swing weight without compromising the club's integrity. PXG is the only company that can tweak the weight of the club to fit your swing type. The xcor2 foam injections not only produce a great dampened sound but also increase the durability of the clubs, protecting the thin club face from damage while still allowing the face to flex. I love products that are designed and manufactured in the USA, and these PXG clubs are no exception. The quality and innovation in their design are evident in every swing. While PXG clubs have traditionally commanded a premium price compared to other brands, the GEN6 versions maintain a competitive pricing strategy. This is particularly noteworthy as other brands continue to increase their prices. These PXG GEN6 golf clubs have become one of my favorite possessions. They have not only enhanced my abilities on the course but also increased my overall enjoyment of playing golf. The combination of advanced design, customization options, and performance improvements make these clubs a worthwhile investment for any serious golfer. ... show more
