This tool worked very well for me in opening up some PVC couplings to be able to slide easily over pipe, and also repairing some pcv glue joints by allowing me to drill out the pipe stub and reuse the fitting end. The sides of the tool fit perfectly in a 2" pvc fitting, and the end is stepped smaller to fit inside of a 2" pipe that might be already glued in the fitting. What I found to be very critical when using this tool is to drill perfectly square and perpendicular to the pipe. I was able to do fittings in a drill press but had to free hand the repairs with a cordless drill. It is important to drill very slowly and carefully, stopping frequently to evacuate the chips. This is not due to a blade or sharpness issue; it is because you do not want to melt the pvc. If you get sideways and/or melt the chips and cut area inside of the fitting you will not get good results. This has nothing to do with the tool, it is basic workmanship practices. The tool itself is nicely made out of a sold block of machined aluminum with a square cutting insert that can be rotated. very satisfied with this product. ... show more

This PVC Pipe reamer is the real deal. Fits Schedule 40 pipe Inside diameter perfectly. This is a real labor save for me. My remodel is relocating my shower drain 4 inches.
