    • Great for everyday use
I bought these for everyday, routine use at home and they do that very well. The fabric is soft, which does not lend itself to fancy folds. However, it's quite pleasant to use for wiping one's hands and/or mouth. Grease stains must be pre-treated. Because of the looser fabric weave, grease really sinks in. While that's what a napkin is designed to handle, it does require extra laundry attention. I got the gray ones and color fading was not an issue based on the color catcher I used when I first washed them. I've washed several of these napkins multiple times and any shrinkage is minimal. What I do note is that they stayed square. Promptly removing them from and dryer and folding leaves them smooth enough for regular use, with no obvious wrinkles. The one small downside with this soft fabric is that it does pill a little bit. The pills are small but they are certainly there. These are both soft yet firm enough, the color is beautiful, and they're absorbent enough to be perfect dinner napkins. I ordered them primarily for my Thanksgiving table, and I was not disappointed. I will be using them for many meals to come.

THESE ARE WELL MADE NAPKINS WITH A NICE TRIM. WHEN THEY ARRIVED THEY HAD A CHEMICAL SMELL SO I IMMEDIATELY WASHED THEM IN COLD WATER (AND 1 CUP OF VINEGAR TO SET THE DYE), THEN DRIED THEM ON DELICATE SETTING. The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 18" White Hemstitch Cloth Napkins for a luncheon. The hemstitch is beautifully sewn and adds to the quality look of the napkins. The cloth is soft and easy to manipulate for different folding positions. For the event, I did remove the tag on each one so that it didn't show through the fabric. They washed nicely. Since they are 100% cotton, I was able to wash them with detergent and bleach. All the napkins came out clean. These are a good value for a fine quality napkin. ... show more
