First off let me say this gazebo is very nice. Every piece and part fit together perfectly. Even some spares of some screws and what not. Quality unit thru out. The during and after sale correspondence was fantastic, unheard of lately. The assembly was somewhat of a project, my wife and i are in our late 60’s and we got it done. If i had to build another one, i would certainly get a couple young guys to help. Directions were fine, all illustrations. We’ve had a couple of very windy days since we put it up and have no problems. One thing i would recommend it to assemnle it on a flat, level surface , otherwise it’ll be out of kilter and bolts wont go into holes. I am bery happy with the quality and would certainly recommend it to others. Great job Purlpeleaf 👍 ... show more

These comments are for the 10x14 gazebo. I agree with the majority of comments from other five-star reviews. The gazebo arrived in five boxes, ranging in weight from 37 to 114 pounds. The heaviest box was the smallest, containing the steel roof panel sections. The packaging was very robust, with extra-thick cardboard plus reinforcements where needed. The roof panel box was damaged slightly by FedEx during transit, but the robust packaging prevented damage to any panels. With over 1000 individual pieces, assembly takes some time. In our case, we installed it on our deck that is elevated six feet above ground level, and with only seven feet clearance from deck to soffit, so this presented a few additional challenges, but the assembly process is such that no ground-based ladders were needed. The gazebo is very well designed and is obviously manufactured with tight tolerances to ensure quality. The pieces fit together very well; however, it's important that the base legs and frame be plumb and square so that subsequent pieces fit well. Because we assembled the gazebo to be adjacent to the sliding doors exiting our house, we appreciate the built-in gutters. The gutters are not extremely deep, but they seem to work well with light and moderate rainfall rates; a heavy rainfall rate will result in overflow. We bolted the gazebo to our deck, using 2x4 sleepers between the deck joists to provide a secure anchor. We've had some strong winds since, and the gazebo was very stationary, with no rattles or movement that we could detect. Mostly, we need sun shade, and the gazebo screens don't provide much shade, so we removed them. The solid curtains work well, and are made of heavy fabric that should stand up to the weather for years. The dark gray color has a relatively high emissivity, so solar absorption and re-radiation of infrared to the inside of the gazebo will occur. The vent near the top, between the two roofs, will allow for convective release of warm air to help cool the inside, especially if all the solid curtains are in use. Overall, I think this is a very good product, one that I can recommend. We look forward to finally being able to use and enjoy our deck! ... show more

I have a lot to say about this. First off the customer service from Purple Leaf is SUPER!!! They were so helpful and responsive. We went from a 10x10 structure to this 13x15. It comes in 8 separate boxes. The lights in a separate box. You MUST be patient with your set up. There are lots of pieces and it will take time. I would say in total it was about 9 hours. The weather was not very warm when we started and we are fortunate to have the garage to use as set up with laying out the pieces according to the letters. Be careful to read the instructions carefully as some of the hardware is similar in size. We were pretty happy with the instructions. Good visuals. Had a couple spots that we needed to redo. restart. The roof part mainly. We live in Colorado and we have had a couple significant wind storms since setting this up and it did great! Maybe 60 plus MPH winds!!! WE were very lucky to have a couple friends help us as well. We made it a party! WE are happy with the quality and the size. The lights were more dim overall than we wanted so we did put are other lights (plug in) back on from the old gazebo and hooked them into Alexa for on and off. they are brighter. We added our fan from before as well. We added only part of the screens as they are bulky and we were disappointed that there was no strap or tie them up. Right now we have a bungee cord around them. We will not be using the curtains as it creates a complete black out which is not the effect we are looking for. We may just add our crank down shade that we had before. If we get lots of bugs we may appreciate the screens more but we in general don't have a great issue here once we set out citronella candles and such around the perimeter. I hope this is helpful to others We would recommend this shelter/gazebo to others. Great customer service and quality product which to us, means a lot these days. Good Luck! ... show more

After redoing our deck we wanted to be able to enjoy it with shade and without bugs. This seemed like the best option and fit our very large deck. Some of the pieces came dented which is why it’s almost but not quite perfect. I did reach out to the company for the replacement of one post and they quickly sent a new one better packed than anything I’d ever seen! We absolutely love this gazebo! It’s been a game changer for enjoying outdoors. It feels very sturdy when properly anchored. So happy with our purchase. It took three men the better part of 8 hours to assemble it. That seemed to be the right he amount of people and it wasn’t too difficult. ... show more
