I am a professional handyman. I built this gazebo on a raised deck all by myself. Had the wife help tighten a few screws that I couldn't reach myself. For the most part, everything fit together as it should have. A few places had a little difficulty lining things up, but I got them. I did have a couple items that had manufacturing defects. Two of the posts had tabs that were welded on crooked. No way to bend them back without breaking them off, so I enlarged the holes and screwed the beams on to them. Still plenty of strength as there are more screws holding these parts together. They offered some kind of discount or the replace the posts but I did not want to wait for new ones to arrive. Made it work and I'm happy. I followed a YouTube video's advice and separated/organized all the parts. Used little plastic containers for fasteners (labeling them) which really made it easy to use the right ones. This thing went together pretty easy even though the directions were a little vague at times. Pretty easy to figure out once I started in on it. This product seems to have a very good finish. Very durable and it was packaged so there was no damage in shipping. It came with a couple extra fasteners, but try not to lose any - I ended up having the exact amount of the #1 screws as I had a couple defective ones. If I came up short I would have had to go looking for another. I would recommend this gazebo to anybody who has a little mechanical aptitude and can follow directions. Two people would make it easier to assemble, but it can be done solo. I think it took me around twelve hours (didn't really keep track) to do the actual assembly. Let me start off by giving the information most people are looking for, then I will go into some details. First of all, yes I highly recommend this product, it is a high quality product and best bang for your buck out there. It is possible to do this alone if you have a few ladders to prop the top up as you secure it. There are a few minor, and I want to emphasize the word minor, things I would improve in terms of build design. (1) The plastic clips can be annoying to deal with on the roof (use a small bit of tape to hold in place, problem solved). (2) The top of the mesh lining up top could be secured better by design. (again, can be solved with some double sided black tape). (3) The two sphere decorations on the top are impossible to tighten once you install them so make sure you do it while you can. (4) The plastic curtain hooks could be a better quality,, work fine though. (5) The installation manual is only images. I've seen a lot of people complain about this but I went ahead and bought it anyways and let me tell you, it is not a big deal. The images are super clear, the directions are basically drawn for you. So much so that i would look at the details of the CAD image when I had a question and you can clearly see the smallest details that can tell you which way a piece is supposed to be oriented, etc. It's not a big deal. Would some text help? Yea sure. The product took 2 days to install with 2 people but that is only because I went slow on purpose to do it right. Once it is finished, its worth it all. The media could not be loaded. This Purple Leaf gazebo is 24x14. Took us about 13 hours to assemble, that’s including the unpacking of the items in the box and verifying that it’s all there and it was. We had a couple items that was damaged but reached out to Purple Leaf and they sent us new parts. It only took them a couple days to get it to us. We are so happy with this gazebo. Very nice addition to our back yard. The screens is a big bonus. It keeps the bugs out and when you want privacy you can close the curtains. What’s really awesome about that is there is no gaps on top the the screens and curtains where bugs can get in. It is very stable, we just had a big wind and rain storm and the gazebo is holding steady. At night time we close the curtains and watch a movie with the projector. The rain gutter drains as advertised. I highly recommend this product!!! Some suggestion when assembling is watch lots of videos on YouTube, it is very helpful. The instructions does not tell you to leave some screws loose, so if you tighten them it will be hard to put together and you will have to loosen the screws that you tightened. Make sure to tie the screens and curtains down when it’s windy. Overall this is by far the best gazebo, even all our neighbors complimented how good the gazebo looks and fits perfectly in our back yard. And for the price you can’t beat that.
