I think it’s important to point out that you will like these sheets IF you like cotton sheets. I can’t speak for everyone, but my impression of some of the negative reviews are that people are complaining about things that are normal qualities of cotton sheets. 1. These are good, crisp sheets that keep you at a cozy temperature. I never feel too cold or overheated with them. 2. Yes, cotton sheets need a few washes to soften up. Any time I get new cotton sheets, I give them an initial wash in warm water with a cup of baking soda (no detergent!). Cotton sheets often have chemicals added to them that make them feel stiff, and apparently detergent can “lock” these in. Then I give them a second wash with detergent and fabric softener. These sheets were already almost as soft as a 5 year old set of sheets after just those two washes! 3. Cotton wrinkles. Relax. I am not normally bothered by this, so it’s possible I’m not noticing it, but I haven’t had any issues with these sheets being wrinkly. 4. The sheets are thick enough to not see my mattress’s pattern, even though I have them in white. 5. The deep pockets are deep enough, with room to share, for my extra giant mattress. Sheets were smelly when I took them out of the casing. I noticed they were very rough and felt like a Brillo pad. I washed them according to the instructions (cold water) and I put them in the dryer on tumble dry (low). I pulled them out the dryer and they were very wrinkle and they still felt like a Brillo pad. These sheets are not Egyptian cotton and the thread count is not 800 despite what’s advertised. I wasted $60 on these sheets and am checking with Amazon to see if they can be returned. ... show more

I have a bachelor's degree in textile design from Boston University, and I have a good magnifying glass. So, I counted the threads, and got a total of 272. This is a very far cry from what is advertised as 800 threads per inch. I'm sure they're counting the individual strands that make up each and every thread, or just plain fabricating that number out of thin air. Also, the hems on the pillow cases are made before the side seams are sewn, so that there's some ugly serged seams that run right up to the top of the pillow case and this isn't even well secured at the ends, so I'm sure they'll be unravelling after the first wash. ... show more

These are great five-star sheets. They are a little 'stiff' out of the box but two trips through the washer (with extra fabric softener) and they were good to go. The cotton is breathable and the fine thread count is especially luxurious. The pockets of the fitted sheet are extra deep and easily accommodate our mattress. And the color is rich and consistent. LIES!!! These sheets are so not deep pocket. They didn't even reach 14 inches as you can see by the photo. Totally dishonest in their description. If you are looking for deep pocket sheets look at a different product. If you are looking for regular size pocketed sheets these are nice. They are thick, relatively soft, and seem like they will hold up for awhile. ... show more

You’ll never buy a different sheet again. Our friends and my husband and I discovered the sheets about five years ago at a very upscale bed-and-breakfast in New England. The minute we got into bed that night we both said what the heck are the sheets. The next day we asked the owner of the bed-and-breakfast what kind of sheets they were. She told us that she ordered them from comfy and that she could get them for us. Since then I have bought them for every member of my family and twice for me. I’m not sure how these sheets have such high marks. I suspect it has something to do with the seller requests reviews in exchange for free extra pillow cases. The description says they will fit up at an 18 inch mattress. Then when listing the dimensions in another place, it list them as 15 inch pockets. I would estimate them being somewhere between 15 and 18 inches deep. I don’t find them to be especially soft, and I have no way to tell for sure, but I don’t think these are 800 thread count as claimed. ... show more
