We use these for the small gym section of our basement. We have two treadmills, small dumbbells, and a college room style fridge on these mats, and they appear to be working well and holding up (no tearing or pitting). We also use them for our Meta Quest 3 (a 4'x4' section) so we can feel when we move off of the mat, and it works well for that purpose. Sometimes the thin trim/edge piece will start to separate, but it's not a big deal as you can just gently kick it back into place, or you can use duct tape on the bottom if it bothers you (we haven't gotten to that point yet, though I may eventually tape the one we use for our VR sets). Installed the flooring in our basement gym. Was easy to install, doesn’t move around and functions as it should. Only complaint is that the floor gave off a powder while it was new which spread through the house and made it extremely slippery when wearing socks on our hardwood floors. It seems like it’s dissipated since (about two weeks) but it something to think of. We mopped the rubber floor a few times to reduce it. ... show more

Was looking into mat for my home gym, saw they were around $300 for large, but not 12' x 12", this ws less than 1/2 the price. Interlocking system meant I could configure how I needed, lots of edge pieces provided, make any shape you would like. So far these mats have been perfect under our home gym. There’s enough cushion from the concrete floor but enough support to keep you safe. It was easy to put together and somewhat fun :). It took about 20 minutes to assemble.

This product is pretty poor, if used as intended. The top part (shiny with ridges) has a weird oily substance that makes it wildly dangerous to not only walk on, but certainly work out on. To remedy this I scrubbed the top part of the mats (as well as the floor underneath, and surrounding room, even into the hallway….) several times with wet swifter, alcohol, vinegar over the course of 2-3 weeks. It wasn’t easy to clean, and kind of annoying but the oily substance is now gone though. My next gripe was that even without the oily substance, the top plastic part is hard to sweat on directly. Kept slipping during planks and yoga, adding a yoga mat on top didn’t help (and also defeats the purpose of having these mats to begin with) I ended up flipping the mats over to have the underpart, which is more of a yoga mat material anyways, be on the top. Helps tremendously with grip from that perspective but still had an issue of the pieces of mat separating during workouts. Only issue then, was that the slippery plastic part was on the bottom now, and the only way to “anchor” it down was to keep heavy weights on the mats while I worked out (hazard, but I have 6x8 mats so not undoable) Lastly, I ordered a 6x9 antislip under rug mat, and FINALLY these mats are 100% useable if used upside down, without any further tweaking. Can do burpees, yoga, static and dynamic weight training with good grip for my hands on the (underside) of the mats, and the pieces no longer slip apart. I was SO CLOSE to returning these, but the cost of a different product would have been so much more for the 6x8 size I wanted (eg gorilla mat). Even with the $30 for the antislip under rug, the mats are still the cheapest option. Happy I kept the mats and troubleshooted! If you’re looking to use these mats for static weight training, for under a treadmill or bike, and not for anything that requires dynamic moment, they would be good as is, once you work the oily substance off of the top layer. IMO if you are looking to move on these mats in any way (yoga, planks, burpees, side to side, jumping etc) you need to have patience and troubleshoot the faults of the product a bit. Still cheapest option for a large space though ... show more
