  • False product description
The product description bullet points, the last bullet point says that these pants are "button fly". These pants ARE NOT BUTTON FLY. The seller is FALSE AND FRAUDULENT in the product description. The pants have a ZIPPER FLY. And, not surprisingly the zipper broke upon first wearing of the trousers. Which is why I prefer button fly for BDU type trousers. Button can be repaired with relative ease. Zippers: negative. So now, I have a really nice, well made tiger stripe zipper fly trouser that are of no use until and if I can get the zipper fly replaced. Moral to this story: accept only button fly BDU's. ... show more

  • Propper vs. TRU-SPEC
Size: Medium Long Item Length Description: Long Length Color: Dark Grey, 65% Polyester, 35% Cotton
I like these pants. I bought one pair of these and one pair of the TRU-SPEC Ploy, cotton, ripstop. Same size. Both are good pants. There are a few differences. The Propper's are tapered towards the ankle so there a tighter look to them. The TRU-SPEC's were baggier at the ankle. The Propper brand is also tighter in the seat and crotch area, not uncomfortanble but the TRU-SPEC are noticebly baggier there as well. The material on the TRU-SPEC's is a slightly softer but I wouldn't say the Propper's are rough. Because of TRU-SPECs bagginess and softness, I think the Proppers look crisper. Both have held up well for the last 2 months. Additional note: It has been 4 months of wearing these both pairs interchangeably with regular washings. They both look to be in the same shape as before. I have noticed on both pairs the cuffs by the ankle have dragged on the ground at some point and have become scraped up and threaded. I do not use the ties on the cuffs and removed the ties early on. The scrapes seem more so on the TRU-SPECs and that would be expected since they are looser. I am also not using boots with either of these so that more than likely is the reason. 8 month update: So far so good still. Both are holding up well and I used them everyday. 3 things that I noticed. 1: the top button of the TRU-SPECs popped off about 2 months ago. I could resew it but have been lazy and just tighten my belt over it. 2: Both pairs have side cinches that will tighten the pant's waist in place of or in assistance with a belt. The Tru-Specs hold in place but the Proppers uncinch if I squat. Speaking of squatting, 3: the other day I was doing yard work and it wasn't bad when I began but became humid as the day progressed. When I squatted in the Proppers it was very tight around the knee and leg area because of the sweat. I assume it its because the proppers are not as baggy as the Tru-specs. I have not worn the Tru-specs and squatted in them while sweating so I cannot compare. Additional note on these only: I think you are supposed to unbutton the fly all the way before you wash them. I usually only undo the first 3 and now the fourth button has started to imprint on the front of the fly. ... show more

  • Very good for $30, close but not the same as the old issue BDUs.
Size: Medium Regular Item Length Description: Standard Length Color: Khaki - 100% Cotton
First I am deployed as a contractor in Iraq. I kind of felt nostalgia for what I wore when I first joined the military in the early 90s. (yes I'm old) Ran across these in khaki and thought I would risk the $30. Was not expecting very much for the price. It is in the ripstop pattern, but is 100% cotton. The material feels thinner/ different then the old BDUs. Overall they bring back a lot of good memories. I hope they are available when I need to buy more work pants. Cons, Missing the flap the ripstop BDUs had. 100% cotton, much thinner then the winter BDUs, will wrinkle would not recommend washing in anything but cold Belt loops are thinner (seems like they may/will fail) no pleat at the knee (I remember folding them when ironing the old BDUs) Draw tab thinner less durable material then the original BDU removing Irish Pennants like original BDUs (strings left from the manufacture) Pros, Many of the cons , i.e. thinner cotton, no knee pleat, no flap (except the belt loop, possibly the waist tabs they seem like a fairly faithful copy) Very similar to the original pattern, i.e. drain grommets on the pockets double material knees, seat of pants made in Haiti and not china $30 can make repairs in the field if you lose a button unlike if your 5.11 zipper fails. (will buy these to replace the 5.11s in the future) Seems well sown They seem to fit like a medium regular should inside pockets are well sown ... show more

  • Crotch hangs WAY low.
Size: Medium Regular Item Length Description: Standard Length Color: Woodland, 100% Cotton
The crotch is EXTREMELY long on these. So much that to get it where it should be I have to pull them several inches above where my pants normally ride.I wore medium-regular BDU's back in the day. I'm 5'9" 160 lbs (then and now) and they (Military BDU's) fit great. These.....not so much. The materially appears to be durable. Wearing them around the house they are noisy. Hunting pants I think not. Was hoping they'd be close to Military BDU-type pants.Not. Waist-cinching strap and belt loops are wimpy. Will update after several wearings and washings but I'm not hopeful. Update. I've washed and worn these half a dozen times, have not softened up. As for the crotch it still hangs WAY low. I like the material and the design, just wish they fit better. ... show more

  • Perfect FIT for a Nimwit!
Size: Large Item Length Description: Standard Length Color: Olive
I love the fact that I am a Nimwit. Being a nimwit all of my life, (yes I was born nimwitted) , I have had to face barrels of Stigma and Mean Spiritedness from my peers. These trousers have changed all of that. I am no longer ostracized and people have stopped throwing rotten bananas at me! They only throw dead fish, which are much easier to deal with in the home. I can even carry back all of the fish in the spacious pockets that are provided at no extra charge with these trousers. I love Propper Brand and I am never going to run naked through the mall again! I promise on the Yellow Pages. ... show more
