I used this remote on my Canon EOS R7 and it worked like a dream! No special settings - just plug it into the camera and make sure both pieces have working batteries. I was surprised by the distance I could go from my camera and still use this remote. The only thing that would improve this product would be to allow the base to rotate to the side; it is that it is difficult to use the viewfinder on the camera when the base is plugged into the camera, but you can obviously set up the scene by using your LCD screen on the camera. ... show more

I bought this to be able to do some self candid portraits with my horse. First, it was super easy to set up, i didn’t even need to read the instructions. I have a canon rebel t6 and it worked very well with it. I was able to take photos from 50ft away and it continuously took photos without causing a problem, a huge plus was it didn’t need to be directed at the camera. Overall this was a great purchase for a solo photographer and not overly expensive. The only thing I would like to comment on that’s not a problem but maybe would be worked with is the size of the remote, it’s as long as my hand so I had to photoshop the remote out of my hand. I wish it was slightly smaller so it could be more hidden. ... show more

I never bother writing bad reviews. Actually, I've always had good luck buying over the internet. I like this product for its ease of use. However, over a two month period I used the remote for a total of eleven shots when it died. New batteries didn't work. Flipping the cable didn't work. Changing the frequencies didn't work.
