This is my first time using oil paint and this is how my painting of Jackie Chan came out and I really love it but the thing is it doesn’t have the color black I didn’t notice that. Just be aware of that. But overall it’s really good and ya should get it. I tried mixing to make the color black but it didn’t turn out well at all but never mind that. It’s a good price and a good start if you want to oil paint. It takes a few days or 2 to dry completely tho. So protect the painting in the drying process for like 2 or 3 days. Tip! Don’t use too much refined linseed oil or it will take a lot of more time(days) to dry because the paint itself already contains some refined linseed oil in it. ... show more

I'm a digital artist starting to venture into traditional mediums. I've stuck to acrylics up until now because of their inexpensiveness compared to other mediums. Though I've always found their color to be lacking in chroma and would have to resort to lowering the value range of my artwork in order to create the illusion of vibrancy. I decided to give oil paints a try and quickly became discouraged with how much more expensive they were. I tried looking for a value brand that didn't sacrifice quality for price and I stumbled upon ZenArt. The oil paints were kind of hard to remove from the packaging but it really wasn't a serious issue. ZenArt clearly believes in their product as they offer a 1 year warranty, which to me, for an art product, is insane. I attached a quick portrait I did to test out the paints and I gotta say, oil paints are a real pain to clean haha, but man, I'm really excited with the potential these have. The value range is just larger. Brighter tints and darker shades, deeper hues. ZenArt doesn't leave anything to be desired in terms of quality and I'm excited that I can approximate the chroma and saturation that digital art so easily does. ... show more

Getting back into oil painting, and lost my higher end paints. Didn’t want to spend all that money on the brand name stuff so I ordered this set and was honestly surprised! The consistency is easy to mix, the paints are fluid and I haven’t had any problems mixing it with liquid or turpentine. I’m rusty but the size of these tubes are pretty big and I don’t feel as guilt when I mix the wrong colors! This would be a great gift-starter kit! ... show more

Paint seems reliable for the price. The co. Zen Life offered a free sketchbook. I filled out the form but have yet to receive it. Otherwise the product and paints are what I expected. Seems like more oil than pigment compared to others but good over all.

I bought these paints a while back for my first commission painting and I am impressed. I’ve only ever use acrylic paint, but this paint tops that. Literally everything. I can blend easily and mixing is simple. The shades are vibrant and you don’t need much paint to fill a canvas. I think this paint is good for both seasoned and beginner artists. I’ve been wanting to buy this paint for years! And I’m so happy I finally did! It was buttery smooth, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. It gives me plenty of time to blend things out the way I want, and has a great dry time. And the best part? It’s cruelty free and vegan friendly! I love that there are no chemicals in this paint, and I loooooove that nothing was harmed in the process of making it.
