I purchased this and 3 days later it arrived. I was able to use it today for the first time!! Absolutely love it!! I purchased because I wanted something easy for a short ride, plus I love bareback riding but can’t go as far as I would like. This is really comfortable, sturdy, stays in place, after a few new hole punches for the girth. The stirrups fit my boots nicely but I need to do something because they will slip slightly, I just didn’t put my entire body weight after the first slip. This seems like it will hold up for a while! I rode about 3 miles, I was only going to ride about 15 minutes to test it, but it was so awesome I kept going! I believe my horses thanks me for this LOL. Did I mention there is no squeaking as with my western saddle! I can hear what’s going on around me, it was great to hear then watch the deer jump out in front of us! ... show more

What a nice ride. I use a saddle blanket under the pad just to keep it clean and fresh. I took the stirrups off to work on my balance and it's perfect. The cinch is weird so I just use a regular, cotton string cinch. My husband burned new holes in the straps which was a hard project. My horse is a small Quarter Horse at 14.2 hands high so the girth was way too big. I would recommend this bareback pad if you can deal with trying to add holes to the straps and if you can switch to a different cinch. ... show more

This seems like a nice quality bareback pad that is comfortable for the rider. However there is relatively no withers clearance so not comfortable for the horse if they have any withers. Definitely seems like it would be comfortable, though, for A horse with the right body type.
