The reason why is is so essential to use profession hair scissors is because the hair follicle is very sensitive. I bought these shears to trim my "down there" region and so far they have worked out great. I am in the middle of a home renovation project so I lost track of my normal nether region sculpting contraption so after an extremely stringent review process, I bought these guys. I typically trim the hedges about every other week or so but due to being displaced, I went closer to a month this time. I have been living with my girlfriend during this time frame and we both have been feeling inadequate due to the shrinking size of my love muscle so trimming back the forest, so to speak, has given us a much-needed boost of confidence. Highly recommend these. I bought other “Barber Scissors “ from big box stores - never happy (awkward to use). I have used these about 8 times & they are great. I am a senior male with arthritis in hands. Scissors are total length of 6 inches & cutting blade surface of 2 1/2 inches. Precision cutting (squeeze handle it cuts). “Balanced” for easy control. I like how sharp these scissors are! I was a bit skeptical to order them because it seemed a bit cheap, but my expectations were exceeded! I mainly use them to deal with my split ends and these scissors get the job done! I feel comfortable holding them with my right or left hand and find them to be a very high quality! I'm happy with my purchase and will continue using them! I don't think you can beat the price and get a better quality at the same time! My mom and I were in desperate need of a hair cut. Because we’re from TX, currently a hot spot for COVID-19, going to a hair salon is too much of a risk. I remember seeing this on Shark Tank a while back and I decided to order it. I have long thick hair (I was practically sitting on it!). And my moms hair is medium thick hair that was getting down to her lower back. I did a little bit of research looking at YouTube videos. Then, I leaned forward and snipped away. I gave myself layers that I use to have in high school and my mom wanted a medium bob cut...it’s not hard to use these tools but it does take patience and some research. LookIng up videos made me feel more confident about it. I cut off 2.5 inches with two layers and shape it into a U instead of V. I was looking for a pointy tipped metal scissors to trim my split ends that's is high quality yet not expensive. I am very glad I got these. These feel sturdy like a professional tool, and cuts hair nicely. Also the long pointy tip is perfect for point-cutting ends of hair to give a layered look. These also cut well straight, if you are looking to get a blunt cut. If you want to give a nice trim to your split ends or give your kids a good haircut, don't use scissors you have been using to cut paper. They won't give a nice cut. Finally after 22 years I own a pair of hair scissors and boy am I glad. I am someone who has been natural for 5/6 years and I go to the salon to get a wash and blowout every 2 years. I often style my own hair and wear wigs. Being natural and not the best at properly taking care of my hair I can say I have bad ends and fairy knots out of this world. I am also guilty of using staple office scissors to cut my ends which obviously is a big no no. I thought “hey scissors are scissors “ but that is not true after I first used this I realized how much better having real hair scissors are. I am not a professional, just a mom who cuts her three year old sons' hair. These are soooo much better than the pair that came with the electric clippers. The boys, at three, are major moving targets, these are sharp enough to do the job but not so sharp I'm slicing us up in the process.
