Great carburetor for an excellent price (compared to other websites). Relatively easy to install but DID NOT come with any instructions for doing so (thank goodness for You-tube). Also came with 3 different gaskets. Had trouble initially replacing rod that attaches to carburetor throttle area and had to slide carburetor back several times (could have used instruction sheet). Well, the carburetor gasket that I installed from this kit has already torn on one corner. May have to replace it. Other then that, the carburetor is allowing my snowblower to run like new again (old one gummed up even though I used sea foam). I will definitely drain the gas tank after this season is over, and allow snow blower to use up any additional gas in the carburetor!! ... show more

I bought a used craftsman sb 230 snowblower that wouldn't start. Cleaned original carb and got it to start, but it wouldn't feed enough fuel when the blower was under load😠. Apparently these carbs do not handle old fuel sitting in them after season, no surprise. This carb fit perfect on my craftsman sb 230 and it started and ran perfectly under load. It plowed through 8" of heavy wet snow we got 2 days ago. The machine would stall in 2" of snow before! It also comes with a shut-off valve, 2 filters, some fuel line, clamps and carb gaskets. I cut the fuel supply line and installed the shut-off valve which will allow me to run most of the fuel out of the carb while it sits between duties. This carb was an exact match for the one that was on my Craftsman Series SB230 CMXGBAM1054538 Snow Thrower, even down to the same manufacturer on the carb body. I couldn’t be happier. My old carb was leaking gas into the oil because of a bad float needle valve, which I had fixed once already. For the price of this carb it wasn’t even worth trying to fix the old one again. After a few minutes of burning off the accumulated oil/gas the engine now runs like a top. And with the gas line shutoff included in the kit I can now turn the gas off and run the carb bowl dry before putting it away for the next use, effectively eliminating the possibility of gas leaking into the oil again. I purchased this item as a replacement snow blower carburetor. Unfortunately it was not the correct one for my model. I wish it was because the gaskets and clips and extra accessory pieces for the primer and hoses are actually a great deal for the price.
