It is clearly a cheap clone of the original Nikki OEM carb used by Briggs & Stratton. Overall quality is good and it does work properly! In my application (Wheel House 5500 generator) I needed to swap over both the choke and throttle shafts which was simple enough. There are no fuel adjustments on this carb. One pull and it fired right up. The included air filter fits and appears to be of good quality. Bottom line, this is a good alternative to rebuilding the original carb although I did order a kit from B&S and intend to have that carb ready as a backup if/when this one fails. Time will tell. The kit of assorted parts… let’s just say I won’t be using those. But they are good enough to put in the drawer of random power equipment parts, just in case. ... show more

    • Generator back up and running!
My Generators carb started spewing gasoline during hurricane Beryl, unfortunately it did this 3 days before power came back on. My first order of this carb sent me an incorrect product, no fault of the device, i submitted a return and the new one arrived quickly. I got it on my generator and was up and running just in time for power to be restored the next day. Works like a charm! ... show more

    • Very good, except 2 minor exceptions
All in all, a very good price compared to others selling for over $100 and up for same part. This kit came complete with everything to replace. Just couple exceptions noted below. -1. Spark plug didnt match. One in kit was too big nut size and height too tall. 2. Handle for Choke default installed one used, but there wasn't any instructions on how to remove old and replace with new, I did a modify to the metal opening and cut out a slot to allow the default handle to fit mine. Figured out later that there was a separate bag that had the smaller plastic handle that matched mine, but had to figure out that i needed to cut from the old carb that plastic stem ends- holding the metal flap piece to use on new. And it just slides in to the slotted short plastic handle. So now, i have both new default + old metal flap combined with new handle -saved just in case. And unit started right up on 1st try. I just reused the old spark and just cleaned it up with some fine sand paper and steel wool. Probably will replace that later. Oh yeah, also had to empty a bunch of old gas that was discolored and then started flowing regular color so i had some dirty gas in the tank. Put fresh gas and all good! Old carb the spider vein gasket was stretched out cuz i used carb cleaner in the past - Don't use that cuz it breaks down rubber gasket over time! Use clean gas instead. ... show more

    • Improved efficiency and performance after install.
My generator was showing signs of sluggish performance and stuttering when starting. When cleaning the carberator and air filter didn't do the job I decided to buy this kit. The kit was very comprehensive, included everything needed and then some to ensure a reliable start everytime. Every part in the kit seemed to be great quality and there were no flawed parts (which is very common umong carb rebuild kits). The main thing to take away is, when installing all the parts you are insuring proper fuel flow and air mixture which will most certainly improve performance and efficiency which I was able to observe from the first run after install. ... show more

The ease of locating the right parts was the main selling point. I tried to find the parts on other sites and couldn't locate the right carburetor. Went to Amazon and found it immediately. The full package at the right price awesome!

    • Carb looks good but no workey!
ABSOLUTE JUNK, DONT TRUST IT. This thing may be a decent carb for something else but as for going on my Briggs storm responder 5500 (which it's supposed to fit) it's junk!! It bolts up fine but it's jetted waaay to Fat!! I didn't notice at first because it started and seemed to run ok but i thought it needed changing governor spring settings. This thing burned gas in half the time it should and once it got hot it was shooting fireballs out the muffler. Became a royal pain trying to make it run correctly through Hurricane Beryl power outage. I'll definitely be leery about buying cheap Amazon carbs in the future. ... show more
