Description

The Edelbrock AVS2 Series 1906 is a satin-finished four-barrel carburetor with electric choke that is designed and calibrated for optimum street performance in engines that require an air-fuel flow of 650 CFM. The AVS2 is a perfect replacement or upgrade that features annular flow primary boosters with a new calibration for improved off-idle and cruising performance. The annular flow booster design delivers improved fuel atomization to eliminate flat spots that may be encountered as the carburetor transitions from idle to full throttle. Each annular flow booster features eight equally spaced orifices to improve fuel metering from idle to the main circuit. The improved flow metering makes this carburetor ideal for use with a wide variety of small- and big-block engines with either dual- or single-plane intake manifolds. The Edelbrock AVS2 1906 includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. It comes with: .101 primary and.098 secondary metering jets; .070 x .037 metering rods; orange (5" Hg) step-up spring. Use our Carburetor Stud Kits 8008 or 8024 if needed. Match with a variety of manifolds that include Edelbrock Performer, Performer EPS, RPM Air-Gap, Performer RPM, Torker II or other brands of similar design.

    • 79 F150 351M. Edelbrock AVS 2 not quite like EFI but VERY close!
I bought this carb to replace a Holley. I've always had Holleys on the 351M in my truck, but decided to try the Edelbrock because of the fuel delivery method on the AVS2. I could not be more pleased with the improvement. The Edelbrock responds immediately to the gas pedal. It does not stumble at all and accelerates smoothly and strong. The overall performance has improved dramatically since installing this carb. The engine is also running much more smoothly and even the exhaust tone is better than with the Holleys. To be fair, my guess is that I was just never able to get the Holleys tuned just right so this is not being critical of Holley carbs. I just lack that skill set to tune those carbs and the Edelbrock seems to be good out of the box. I only had to make slight adjustments to the idle speed screws. Another plus for me is that the Edelbrock is wider but not as deep as the Holleys. I have an electronic distributor that is larger than the OE distributor and with the Holleys it has always been really tight between the carb and the distributor. With the Edelbrock, I have at least an inch or so between them. It makes adjusting timing easier. I also added the Edelbrock 9265 heat insulator gasket which lifts the carb maybe a 1/4 inch which also helps with clearance. I gave it a 3 for installation ease because on the Fords it requires another kit (1483) for the C6 automatic transmission kick down bar to attach to the carb. It took some adjusting and getting a longer adjustment screw for this, but with some tinkering it works perfectly. Nothing really hard about the install, but it does require some fiddling to make everything work smoothly on the Ford. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. ... show more

These things run right out of the box.... Very simple to tune if you wish to play with them. They make everything simple from choke adjustment to changing fuel needles if you so choose.... Or just plug and play.... I really like the throttle response.... Is and there a good looking carb....

    • Don't throw your old carburetor away until you,re done.
Great carburetor! All the settings, except the choke adjustment were perfect. Read the instructions thoroughly before starting. You will need the throttle body spacer off your old carburetor, so the linkage will clear the air cleaner. It is briefly mentioned in the instruction manual as "air cleaner spacer # 8059". Go slow. Take your time, and you can do this. Of course, to write a review, you will have to learn how to spell, 'carburetor' and thoroughly'. ... show more

    • Very nice street carb!
This is an awesome carburetor for a street engine from stock to a hot rod engine. Take some time to tune them following Edelbrock's instructions and they will run great! The other thing I can't stress enough is to double check all the settings on these NEW carburetors prior to just putting them on and firing up the motor. I CALLED EDELBROCK AND THEY WILL NOT WARRENTEE AMAZON PURCHASES. THE NUMBERS ON THE CARB SHOW IT TO BE A 2018 CARBURETOR. THE BOX IT CAME IN SHOWED LOT 01/02/24. SOMEONE PUT AN OLD CARB IN A NEW BOX AND SOLD IT TO ME. IT DOES NOT WORK AS IT SHOULD. PURCHASE FROM LEGITIMATE RESELLER OR EDELBROCK. I WANT A NEW ONE NOT A 6 YEAR OD CARB. ... show more
