My granddaughter really enjoyed crafting this star, She was very excited about the lights. She has mini Christmas lights all around her bedroom year round and this fits perfectly with her decor. The project took about 25 minutes from box to ceiling, all the pieces were in the box and the directions were easy to follow. She is 10 and didn’t really need assistance. The media could not be loaded. This craft was so fun for my daughter and I. If your child is younger I’d recommend do it together. We used it as a tree topper this year and I just love it!

The Prismic Make Your Own Star Lantern is a fun and challenging kit for children! It comes with a complete instruction booklet and I strongly suggest you read it completely first. If your child is younger, they may need your assistance, but that makes it even more fun as you bond with your child or grandchild! The pieces are well constructed. This will take a little time and your child may have some questions, but the result is stunning! It makes a loverly lantern that can be plugged in and displayed anywhere. It does need to be plugged in to light up, so hanging from the ceiling may not be an option. My granddaughter hung it from the mirror on her bureau and the cord doesn't show because it's plugged in behind the bureau, I think this is a perfect rainy day project for you and your child or grandchild! Nice little craft set! Definitely needs an adult to help. The result is really pretty. It does need to be plugged in, which restricts where you can display it. An extension cord might help. It would make a nice gift. Good price!
