  • Wonderful brushes to work with
Just started watercolor painting, and I bought several different kind of brushes but hands down. These are the nicest.

  • My Favorite Paintbrushes
I love these paintbrushes! I am a beginning hobby artist. I have been painting with watercolor for about a year. I have silverbrush brushes and also these. I like the stiffness and spring of these better than the silverbrush, personally. If you do detailed work, you will probably prefer these. They don't shed, they hold their shape, they are the perfect size, and the price is very reasonable. ... show more

  • What a difference!
To be clear, I am only beginning to play with paints - specifically watercolors. I'm not an artist or even artistically inclined. I simply wanted to "play" with watercolors because I love the look and am enamored with those are are skilled in painting. My sister, who is an artist, passed along to me a beautiful set of dry watercolors and an assortment of used brushes and a notebook of papers that she is no longer using. SCORE! So I did a quick online search of "how to" videos and blogs addressing beginning watercolorists to learn a little about the tools and supplies needed. I learned about different papers and brushes and dry vs. wet paints. And, then I began! It has been quite addictive - this watercolor thing! Mind you, not beautiful - just addictive. But, I wondered about those recommended brushes in the videos. They aren't what my sister had shared with me. Imagine my surprise when they arrived, I used them and voila! I love these brushes so much! They grab more appropriate amounts of water and paints and they offer this novice so much more control. Note to self - when experts recommend something other than "rescued" tools and there's even a slight hint that you may want to pursue the new endeavor - treat yourself to the proper tools! Having never painted before, I had no idea that the type and quality of the brush could actually improve on the experience and the outcome to such a great degree. So happy I purchased this set of brushes! ... show more

  • I'm not sure what they use on the handles...
...but they feel great to hold! These brushes perform right as expected - in between Princetons normal brushes and Neptune line, and are absolutely fantastic work horses.
