My fiance and I have been using this product for months. We love the product; however, when we ordered it a few weeks ago (first time we have ordered since the packaging update), one of the jars came half full. Additionally, the paste was more chalky and did not mask odor as well as the previous containers. I find myself having to use more of this than I used to and it is not as effective. ... show more

    • Repeat Buyer Beware!!!
I purchased my first jar of this earlier in the year, and I absolutely loved it. It was perfect. I ordered another jar in July and noticed the packaging was different, but didn’t think much of it. When I first used the jar it was crumbly and dry, so I melted it thinking maybe that’s what had happened with my first jar... wrong. The new version of this product is dry and doesn’t work. If you go on their website it says not to buy through amazon because it could be a fake product and they won’t stand behind their product. I also emailed customer service weeks ago and never heard back. This version is awful and ineffective, and hopefully they realize it and change it back. ... show more

    • Try it! You'll Love it!
For years I used Mitchem for Women. Every so often I'd try something different, but found I liked Mitchen best. Iin recent years (post-menopause) my odor seemed to be a greater problem, so felt more committed to it. I had tried Tom's brand, a stick, actually a few different ones and they were useless for me. I ordered this and one other brand and with both -- I'm bowled over and just love them. They do the job far better than conventional chemical. This is trying these deodorants for the first time in 90-110 degree F summer, so to find odor to be almost non-existent, when it was a problem before and wetness hasn't been a problem either. The other brand that I ordered and tried at the same time was Schmidts, also in the jar. I prefer Primal a bit more as it's not quite as dry. When I scoop out the pea size amount of Schmidt's it tends to flake and I often have some fall on the floor. But I want to try the various scents of both. I tried the lavender scent in both for an equal comparison. Both I found equally effective. Personally with at least my summer clothing I didn't have any trouble with coconut oil stains that some have mentioned. I would wonder if they're using too much, as I use coconut butter lotion oftentimes on my body and that's never been an issue. One regret, which I'd tried this years ago and made the switch, but better late than never. Onward to having less chemicals in my life. ... show more

    • Caused a growth in my armpit and painful, itchy rash after a years use
I really loved this “natural” product and used it for a year until I began developing pain in my armpits. I thought it was something else, like a rash due to stress or something. I even developed an odd growth that my dermatologist was baffled by and cut off. The growth and rash on both sides were very, very itchy. I finally put the 2 and 2 together and stopped using the deodorant. The pain and itchiness went away. But I still need to go in to my derm and remove a little more of the remaining growth that he didn’t get the first time. I thought maybe it is a fluke and tried the deodorant after months of not using it. Sure enough, the itching came back and was VERY irritating and even painful and flared up the tiny spot that the dermatologist needs to remove. I would like to note that I do not have sensitive skin. And the biopsy of the growth was non cancerous. But the doctors were very puzzled by it. That was not fun. ... show more

    • Pit Paste Is the Greatest invention since sliced bread!!!
Updated Review as of 7-18-2018 The company wanted some feedback so I sent the following to the company and they sent me a form letter back :( This is what I sent, Let me first off let you know in all the years I have been using your product I have sung your praises however with this new shipment I can not do that and would not recommend your product to my friends as of today. Your email says to let you know if I am completely satisfied with my purchase, I must say I am a long time user and the last jar that I have received is like putting sand under my pits, not at all a great experience and it also did not keep me smell free like I am used to using your products. Reading some of the reviews it seems that the formula has changed I hope that all of the negative reviews from long time users will be heard with open ears. If this was my first time buying your product I would either be returning it or would not be a repeat customer. As of today I do not have a new go to deodorant but I am unfortunately will probably be looking for something new :( This is a great price for a great product! I have been using primal pit paste for at least 3 years. It works so good I never worry about smelling bad and I love the lavender scent. I feel good that I am not putting chemicals on my body. When you first try this you might get a rash but it will go away as the toxins go out of your body in the pit area. ... show more

    • Great and it works!
I love this stuff. I make one that is almost identical to this, but I love this for when I'm too lazy to make my own. The one I make and this one are by far the best deodorants I've ever used in my life. My husband also feels the same way. My whole life I always reacted to deodorant - itchy bumps, etc. This one and my own are the only ones that do not cause any irritation at all. It's nice and creamy and spreads nicely. The amount is very small (2oz), but you only need a tiny bit. I don't use it every day. About once a week is enough for me even with exercise. I also don't use soap under my armpits in order to keep the little bacteria colony balanced and happy (I shave with coconut oil). Since I stopped putting soap under my pits, I rarely ever smell. Since I ordered it from Amazon, I noticed a lot of little shops around town sell it. My only issue is I wish I had thought of marketing my own deodorant. I've been making it for over a decade and never once thought anyone would be into it. My loss. Great for Primal Pit Paste for having more initiative than I. ... show more

    • Changed, Not For The Better
Just like some other customer I have to report that I am rather disappointed with the new manifestation of the Primal Pit Paste, which I had enthusiastically bought a dozen times or so, so glad to find it. But now some sort of (plant) wax has been added to the ingredient list which I gather is the culprit that the product has lost its ability to be spread smoothly, too bad!
