  • My dog loves this
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I wasn't sure about this freeze dried dog food but my dog loves it! It has a funny smell and when I break up the little cubes it looks like saw dust but the ingredients seem to be good for him and he loves eating it. I mix it up with his regular "cooked" food i make him (ground port, carrotts, peas, and brown rice) and a little bit of his regular kibble in warm water to make a nice gravy. It is a bit expensive but as an additive it works well. ... show more

  • So quick and easy
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Liked how convenient it is. Pricey...because I have 2 dogs. Doesn't last more than 3 days unfortunately... Which it had more nuggets in the bag and a little less expensive. But quality is good.

  • Even my picky eater is happy with this food
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I started feeding this food to my little dog who is a very picky eater. She seems to love the flavor and licks her bowl clean of all traces of food. It is expensive, but having a freeze dried food means I don't have to be constantly checking on expiration dates. It is easy to pick up and take with me when we travel and it stores well in it's own bag. Definitely worth trying. ... show more

  • Excellent Food with Important Disclaimers!!!
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have a 10 lb. mini dachshund who has sensitivities to all of the commonly available pet store foods. I tried every brand, including those that are grain free, special diets, premium brands, etc. No matter what I gave her, she vomited EVERY day. She also had flaky dry skin and terrible dermatitis all along the edges of her ears. The only thing that helped was when the vet prescribed a daily dose of Pepcid AC. If she missed even one dose the vomiting returned. Given the fact that being on continual antacid drugs causes nutritional malabsorption, I was eager to find a way to get her off of that drug! In desperation I decided to try her on a raw meat diet. I began with a frozen prepared raw chicken dog food. I was so thankful that it worked! Eventually I tried the Primal brand frozen raw chicken formula, and that was the best: no tummy troubles, great skin and coat, and her dermatitis totally cleared up, HURRAY! When I discovered the Primal brand freeze-dried chicken formula I gave it a try and it seems nearly as good for her as the frozen (I think I am detecting a slight return of her dermatitis). BUT there are some important caveats: 1) The feeding guidelines on the packaging are grossly inaccurate (I found the same to be true with their frozen formula)! My little dog is less active than average. According to the package I should be feeding her 4 nuggets per day. In fact she needs *7* nuggets a day to maintain a trim, healthy weight. When I initially fed her according to Primal's guidelines she became emaciated (ribs and spine protruding)! 2) It is VERY EXPENSIVE! (Especially when you may need to feed nearly twice the amount suggested on the package!) I cannot imagine trying to feed this to any dog over 10 lbs. the 14 oz package lasts about a week. 3) It can be difficult to find--even online. So a back-stock at home is a must! Also good to know: The nuggets are too big and dry for my little dachsie to eat right out of the package. If you just pour water on them (even hot tap water) they do not absorb much, no matter how long it sits. They crumble quite easily, though, so I crumble them up and then add water to make a kind of porridge consistency. Since my dog is so sensitive to other foods, I am able to use small pieces of the nuggets as treats for her, which is a big advantage over the frozen version. ... show more

  • One of the 3 types of dog foods my maltese would eat
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Maltese are well known picky eaters. This is the only dried food my maltese would look forward to day in and day out and be willing to have more if given a choice. Because it is dried, I don't have to deal with stained hair or mess like can food does. Also I do not have to keep them in the fridge like the freshpet. Win-win for me and him! As a side note, I do not wet the pieces as he eats them dry but I would ensure there is always fresh water available. No constipation experienced. ... show more

  • My puppy LOVES this food!
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I am so impressed by how much my puppy loves this food. I've never purchased freeze dried food, but was impressed by the reviews. I was very surprised to see the size and weight of the nuggets. My pup (a Havanese) did not eat her kibble even though it's a high quality (and expensive) product. I bought cans of toppers to try to entice her to eat, but she continued to walk away from it. Now I can put a little kibble in her dish along with a crumbled up nugget with warm water and she loves it and eats every morsel in her dish! She actually barks in anticipation of eating when I'm putting it together! I've never had a dog that was so finicky, but very happy to have discovered this product! ... show more
