I'm no golf afficionado, so I can't speak to the intricacies of these clubs, but I can tell that they are mid range as far as quality.     • Great value for trying high loft
I retired a year ago and have been playing a lot more golf in that time. My golf clubs are Ping Eye 2 from the dawn of time (48 years ago?). I ahve a normal loft wedge, which works well enough, but my friends have some various “lob” wedges and such. This set of three high to higher angle wedges gives me the chance to try out some various angles and figure out about what I want before investing in something that will cost me more than this whole set. I tried them all out on the course this week (I think it is not useful to check these sorts of clubs on the driving range) and tried them on some tough pin placements (e.g. not a lot of green between me and the hole). The grips are nice, standard classic style. The steel shaft are about what I am used to. The shiny steel head is a lot different than my old Pings, but have a nice clean profile so it is not too distracting. Out of the three, for me, the 60° is the one that I found the most helpful. There are times when I want to pitch high and stop short on the green and this one does it. SO, mission accomplished. Wedge sampler has pointed the way and when I have a bit more time on all this, will upgrade to a more real set of clubs, including a 60° lob wedge. ... show more

I got this set of wedges to compliment my irons and they fit the bill perfectly! I am comparing these to a set of old Cleveland brand wedges and they competed quite well in performance and spin but there is a noticeable difference in feel. The carry of the ball for these verses my old wedges was about 5 yards less each with about the same amount or more spin. Where these really fall short is in the feel of a good hit, with the Cleveland wedges a clean hit feels smooth while these feel a little more like a miss hit even when it’s a nice pure hit. The grips are more effective than I would have expected, I will still replace them but I am not in a hurry like I would with of new clubs. A good set for a beginner or someone on a tighter budget, you’ll get quality performance at a great price point. ... show more

I am not a good golfer and don't have very good clubs. These wedges feel and work much better than an older pitching wedge and sand wedge that I have been using. I'm sure they will improve my game (which needs a lot of work).

These are very nice. The feel and finish is great. I took to the range and was chipping very well with them. And thats my weakest point in golf. They really gave a good spin. They seem like a good value if you need some new wedges for sure. I would recommend for sure.

    • Excellent Clubs That Aren't Included in Most Beginner Sets
This is a great set to add on to an existing set that may not have one or two of these club angles. Most beginner sets don't have a gap or lob wedge (52 or 60). Depending on your style and needs, you may need these to improve your short game or to practice at the range if you have a practice green. Knowing how to use any of the three clubs in this set is vital for reducing your overall score and becoming a better golfer. All three clubs are built great and should last for years with proper usage and care. I really like the grips and plan to add at least the lob wedge in my main golf bag as it is much different in angle than the typical pitching wedge (PW) or sand wedge (SW) that is included in many full golf sets. ... show more
