I did not want to go with the traditional plastic trap door so I opted to try this one. I am very happy with the product. It is sleek and very sturdy. The only issue I ran into is I had already cut the space in my bathroom tiles for the 10 x 10 but the actual size was 11 x 11. The open of the door is 10 x 10 so keep that in mind when purchasing. This door is a heavy duty metal access door that has is easy to install. The screw holes are inside around the perimeter facing outward. The closing mechanism requires a screwdriver in order to open and close, making it a bit cumbersome in an area needing accessed often. Arrived with 2 small dents in the door. I used this in a bathroom to cover an access hole I made to re-plumb my Jacuzzi tub. As it is visible, I decided to add wall texture to camouflage the door. A little sanding with 180-200 grit sand paper to rough up the finish enough so the texture would adhere. A thin bead of caulk around the visible edges then primed with flat latex and then applied the wall color, an eggshell latex. Do not get in a hurry. Allow sufficient drying time between different product applications and this will work nicely. ... show more
