This fence is pretty great quality and works as expected. We just needed a small fence to keep our corgi from leaving the yard. It took longer than expected to install because we kept hitting rock. We thought we could just hammer it in and move on, but every time we hit some hard we had to make sure it wasn't piping and then dig it up and remove any rocks. So I would say just make sure you have a shovel on hand. Other than that its not too bad. Ideally a two-person job. Gate took approximately 2 hours to complete Instructions were great. Thankfully my hubby home to take over and kept me in the loop to hold steady, and verify level. Sturdy, sleek, just what I wanted. This is a very sturdy and well built vinyl gate with wooden block reinforcements in the ends of the panels. I would have given it five stars, but the mounting holes for the hinges are perpendicular to each other so there is no way to install both of them straight. I had to trim it about a inch and one half to fit my opening, and router the holes for the two end ballisters. Fairly easy install. ... show more

It is reasonably easy to assemble and install, with a couple of odds here and there, especially when it comes to fastening the hinges. But overall, it's easy to put together and I would say 7 out of 10 in terms of sturdiness. I was lucky enough that it was exactly the same width of my raised deck stair opening, so I didn't have to adjust anything, just assemble and install. I rarely write reviews but this product is great. Easy to install and looks terrific! I just have two small suggestions. First, please supply longer screws for the latch so that they screw into the wood block that is in the interior of the corner on the gate. The current screws only go into the vinyl and tend to pull out when my twin three-year-old granddaughters yank in the gate! Also, as we all make mistakes, please include a tube of caulk or other material to fill in the holes we put in the fence and then realize the holes are in the wrong place! I used some caulk that I had around the garage but a matching material to fill in the holes would be ideal. Also, one piece of advice: be sure to get a post driver as this makes the job much, much better. All in all, a very well designed product. ... show more

    • Great Concept...Tons of Work Yet To Do

Simply, it is great concept but they ultimately set you up for failure by not doing some simple things like including "scribe" pieces for dimensions relative to the vertical placement of the posts and the brackets to the posts. How about including the self drilling/tapping screws? I have completed a third of the fence and to make the install easier I am going to dig post holes and back fill with concrete and stone to hold posts. The installation takes FOREVER. It is not simple. The video is so completely misleading it makes me laugh. It is an attractive fence, with a great concept that is obviously still in its infancy and needs a heck of a lot of tweaking to make install easier. I had vinyl break twice so far once at the top of a post and the other at the bottom during the "hammer this soft and brittle" material into the ground step. Truly disappointed as the time to install 8 segments of fence has turned into a multiple day job with me also having to dig post holes because if you hit stone or a stone where you post needs to be, well there is no room to fudge. Lots of efforts has to go into keeping the fence straight both horizontally and vertically. Be prepared for a long long project, do not think this will be quicker than a regular fence project. ... show more

This fence cost a fraction of a product we were considering for a small outdoor garden.
