  • Great stand, saves space and can be folded down to almost nothing
Style: Large Compact Weight Stand
I was looking at the dumbbell stand for cheap pair of power blocks that i got from craigslist, these are U90 with expansion only till 70. Following were my requirements :- - Should not take much space, this was clearly a winner. I stow my adjustable kettle bell below so I can use tthe below space too. - Can be folded out for storage when not in use. Great for transporting as well. - Should be sturdy and not wobble. Rubber pads at the bottom are bonus so these do not dig into the floor. - Should be cheap and not expensive, I was able to get these for $69 + taxes after tracking the price. - Should be able to withstand weight up to 180 pounds each. There are 2 variants, one is large and other is small, I went with large for this purpose. - Able to hold the 2.5 metal blocks specific to power blocks. I would say this stand was able to meet all the above expectations and beyond. Assembly only required me sticking the anti slip material. The height is perfect and helps to keep my lower back healthy by not lifting the weight from the floor. I considered the column stand but the space saving feature had me go with this one. It is sturdy and does not wobble on day to day use. Highly recommend this over the column stand or the small compact variant. I will update more if I find something worth sharing. **If you find my review useful then please click the 'Yes' in helpful. • Wobbly stand. Who product tested this and thought it was a good idea?
Style: Large Column Stand
The media could not be loaded. Edit: Reduced to 1 star due to the effort required to "fix" the stands" and seeing how terrible their engineering was of this. With this fix the stand is now solid and sturdy. If you want to make the same fix, do the following: 1. Order M5 x 14 bolts (SS or zinc plated), fender washers and nuts (preferably nylock nuts) 2. Order 2x of the following from onlinemetals.com in 24" length: 1.5" x 1.5" x 0.125" Aluminum Angle 6061-T6-Extruded Structural 3. Cut both angles to 18" length with a jigsaw or band saw 4. Mark and cut a 45* bevel on the top side of the angle to help avoid injuries once installed. 5. Polish cut edges for safety. I used a Scotch Brite grinder wheel. https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Brite-Multi-Finishing-Wheel-Medium-Grit/dp/B0006N7KZE 6. Remove plastic base from stand, position angles in place on the plastic base and mark outline of holes from the inside of the plastic base onto the angle 7. Drill 5mm hole in angles using markings in previous step for the M5 bolts. Use a unibit to make a circular hole. 8. Put base back on the stand and loosely bolt the angles in using the existing holes in the base and stand 9. Use a punch to create a starter dent in the angle for the angle-to-base bolts. Put them about 1" from each end and centered in the bottom leg of the angle. Drill 5mm hole with unibit, going into the plastic base as well. 10. Remove angles so you can remove the plastic shavings from between angle and base that were created when drilling into the base 11. Bolt angles to everything - base and stand. Use fender washers under the nuts for the stand bolts because the holes in the plastic base are hilariously oversized and sloppy. Original: I had high hopes for this stand, but sadly it is a hot mess due to the easily flexed plastic base. I have the 70 lbs weights and it wobbles around like a drunken college student (trust me, I know) whenever I set the weights in it. Personally I don't even think it's safe - I don't want a wobbling weight stand with a plastic base flexing looking like it's going to drop 140 lbs of steel plates on my feet. I don't trust it AT ALL. The video shows a VERY GENTLE push, which is LESS THAN the amount of flex/wobble I see when I put the weights back in the rack at the end of a set. ... show more

  • Solid, Practical, Great Product
Style: Large Compact Weight Stand
Purchased PBs this past May; decided to use the boxes they came in as makeshift stands, which eventually they got beat up and wasn't easy to change weight settings. Due to funds, held out. Watched and read a bunch of videos of folks building their own stands; but, being in a small condo and not having the tools to build something customized wasn't an option. With months of flubbing around, the stand was finally purchased (opted for the large), albeit the first stand's screw was too loose - the turnaround time for its replacement was awesome! Very happy to have purchased the large as I am 5'3" and when lifting the weights or setting them down, I don't have to bend too far down or reach up (slight bend in the knees). There's no wobble, it's easily collapsible, does NOT take up much space at all and isn't an eyesore (as it stands in my living room). The slanted tabletop is great; it allows easier pickup/placement of the PBs. There are 4 stickers (two for the flat side and two for the bottom lip) that provide some grip though it's not akin to sandpaper (thus running your weights). Definitely love this addition! ... show more

  • Quick and easy assembly...mostly.
Style: Large Column Stand
The media could not be loaded. Assembly took 12 minutes with 3 tools, really 2 tools and one sturdy long thin stick (crowbar). Seems sturdy enough, good height. Getting the sticker that goes inside the 2x2 hole is a bit of a trick, good luck. I peeled back about 1 inch of backing, workd it down the tube by sticking my fingers through the holes, then used the crowbar to reach in, press down and peel back the sticker towards me similar to in the video. ... show more
