Prior to purchase, I own Apple Airpod Pro generation I and II. Unfortunately, they do not fit well in my ears. Even with the 4 sizes of Eartips!! I now don’t need to worry that my earbuds with fallout and be damaged or lost. Upon charging and connecting to my iPhone the sound is phenomenal with the bass “Beats” are known for. These are refurbished, but one would not have known based on the packaging. What put this purchase over the top, for me, is these earphones came with AppleCare for the foreseeable future. My husband and I both use beats earbuds. We use them in the shower and they work great for listening to music, podcasts and audiobooks. I wear mine when I’m cooking and baking, washing dishes…so my husband isn’t bothered by what I’m listening to. He wears his when he mows the grass and doing projects around the house. Ok so I will start by saying that the Powerbeats pro #5 are really good brand,a little price but they really work with “hey google” and “hey siri”. I’ve been buying other refurbished items from Amazon and so far all them work 100% except this time the seem not to be working 100% at all,I’ve just got them and plugged them for overnight and they seem no to be getting a full charge,like I said the other articles have been working very good but these are not,I might have to send them back and get some better ones. ... show more

I originally purchveased these for a driving job, but have since found that they are so useful for other things. Doing chores while listening to music, talking without having to hold your phone. The difference in blleing able to hear everything someone is saying is amazing. The one caveat is that they cancel out noise on your end, but the person you are speaking to hears all of the background noise amplified...no different then just using my phone though. ... show more

My gen-1 Amazon buds had started to have battery life issues, so I was looking around for replacement earbuds. I have a weirdly shallow ear canal on one of my ears, so I have always had issues with earbuds popping out. I decided to go with these because of the over-ear design and generally favorable reviews. I'm happy enough with them to not return them, but I don't like them as much as I liked the Amazon buds. Some general thoughts and complaints: First, they're much larger. That's understandable given the size of the ear hooks, but it does make it more difficult to use them on the go--the case just isn't pocketable. If you have a bag it's a non-issue, but you're not putting the case in a jeans pocket. They don't seal at all for me. I've tried every size of ear tip and none of them fit comfortably while also providing full sealing. If I hold them in place with my hands I can get them to seal and thus I can hear what they "really" sound like, but because of the shape of the hooks they don't hold them perfectly in place and you lose the seal. Also, they don't have active noise cancellation like my Amazon buds did, and I didn't realize just how much I'd miss ANC. My next pair will definitely have ANC again. The sound quality is also a notable step down. The bass is very weak, even at "full" volume (and I don't generally like turning the volume up), and the highs and mids are tinny and "shriek-y." I listen to audiobooks about 75% of the time if I'm using earbuds, and they're fine for that. But the other 25% is a definite downgrade from what I'm used to. They're spotty about connecting to my iPhone and iPad. I was initially happy with the experience of pairing with my phone--because it's an Apple product it automatically starts the pairing process once you hold down the pair button on the case, and it walks you through it pretty seamlessly. I was also impressed that it automatically paired with my iPad without having to go through the pair process again--it "just worked." All that was great. But after having used them for a couple months, I'd say it successfully pairs with my iPhone maybe 80% of the time on first try when opening the case, and maybe 70% of the time with my iPad. Versus 100% of the time with my Amazon buds. I repeatedly have to put the Beats back in their case, close it, pull them back out, and verify they're paired. Sometimes I have to open bluetooth settings and click on the Beats on the list of devices. It's a pain, and one that I haven't had to bother with on pairs of "true wireless" Anker or Amazon earbuds. It's frankly shocking I've been having these issues with an actual Apple product. All that said, there are a couple things these do well enough to make me keep them. First is the general design of having the ear hooks, and second is having physical buttons. I loved most things about my Amazon buds, but the combination of depending on friction within my ear canal and the capacitive "touch" interface made it maddening when I'd repeatedly have to try to press them back into my ear and accidentally pause or fast-forward whatever I was listening to. It was infuriating, especially if I was walking while wearing them. With the Beats, the hook keeps them on my ear and I never have to fidget with them, and the button placement makes it SO MUCH EASIER to play/pause and volume +/-. I have no idea why any manufacturer would use touch controls on ear buds, and in the future I'm going to base my purchases largely on whether or not there are buttons. Finally, I'd just say that I'm happy _enough_ with these to keep them, but have some buyer's remorse. The sound isn't great, the pairing isn't great, but the hooks and buttons are great.
