  • Troubleshooting
I have the HORI joycon charging station that charges 4 joycons at once. I decided to get this because I had more joycons and my pro controller that also needed to be on a charging station. Like many reviews that I read, I had issues right out of the box. However, mine now works perfectly and didn’t involve me taking it apart and replacing it with a new one several times. So I figured I’d come on here and try to help some of you out. The pro controller needs to be lined up just right, yeah it may be a little annoying to have to go over and push the magnetic prong system down, but once it’s in place correctly it charges and the light indicator pops on. Over time, it will become second nature. I also had the problem where one side refused to charge and started blinking at me. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in. That is the first thing you need to do to trouble shoot this kind of thing. After that, same thing happened. Until I finally figured out what it was. My switch was on and the joycon it refused to charge was the one blinking. I turned off my switch, made sure my joycon disconnected, and put it back on. Just like that the red light came on and I could see that all 3 of my controllers were charging. Just my little tidbits of advice to try to save you from getting frustrated and sending it back 5 times :) After a few days of using it, I love it. It’s nice to go to play on my tv without my pro controller always being dead, and I like that it holds an extra set of joycons. This product is not without flaw, but that’s just electronics! ... show more

  • Almost Awesome
This is a great accessory to have if you have a Pro controller and an extra set of joy cons for the Switch. I don't give it 5 stars only because the way that the charging for the Pro controller is possible is by connecting this chunky accessory to it and when you place the controller down on the station you have to really push it in there and make sure the light turns on so you're sure that is charging, unlike the PS5 controllers charging station that has a softer more aesthetically pleasing design. Now it is up to you if you are fine with those details, but I would totally recommend it, there are not many options out there better than this one. ... show more

  • It Works Well Enough
The USB-C attachment for the Pro Controller is kind of odd. I leave it attached permanently and there seems to be no issue doing this. Normally I hate using USB-A to charge due to the voltage limitation. However, everything seems to charge very quickly, or at least quickly enough for my needs. It's a decent charge stand and I recommend it. I do wish the Pro Controller charger without needing an adapter. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
I bought a few other joycon + pro controller chargers since I have docks in two rooms so that I could leave the controllers with my switch. Those had the pro charge vertically on a USB C port. This was an issue for my living room dock as you have to pull the controller straight up off the charger which wasn't easily done from the higher shelf I kept it on. The other issue was the LEDs that were too bright for the one in my bedroom, they should be turned off but then I couldn't check if the controllers were charging. This PowerA charger works great. The dongle doesn't get in the way while playing and the drop in charging cradel works fantastic. The base is weighted but I found that if you try to take the joycons out on too much of an angle you may bring the charger with you a bit. I like that the joycons do fully slide into the charger. My biggest issue is the attached cord. I have a few PowerA Xbox controller chargers which this fits in nicely next too. The Xbox chargers have a removable barrel charger, which isn't as good as being able to use the nice USB C cables that came with the pro controllers, but still better than this chargers non removable cable. ... show more

  • Apparently when it arrives in tact it works great!
So my first shipment was perfect. No issues, no weight breaking internal components and in perfect new shape. The NES online controllers fit perfectly and charge perfectly as you can see from the picture. If you put them in and notice they are not charging (like I did), swap them around from left to right as they are not on the correct side. Also if you charge all 3 at one time and decide to turn on all 3 of them at once to check their power readings in the Controller menu you will notice that not all 3 will charge at the same time. The base only has enough power to charge all 3 of them when they are off, not powered on (which makes sense... No one should use the controllers docked to this stand...) Note also all 3 devices get a green light when fully charged as seen in the picture. Overall great product and one of the only stands that holds the NES online controllers nicely and securely. When it works and you get a good undamaged one it works great! ... show more

  • It holds the controllers just fine. The charge rate is what you would hope ...
So this is exactly what I was hopping for minus the holographic card in the booster pack. It holds the controllers just fine. The charge rate is what you would hope for. The issue is that while the extra piece (yeah i'll explain) required to charge the switch pro controller is not really a hindrance it does not really have a place to reside while not in use. I feel that It could be lost very easily which will remove the ability to charge the pro controller. Why not just leave it in? It is pretty small after all.. For the same reason that I do not leave the joy-con controllers fully locked in. The charging station while using the Switch base as a power source (shown in directions) insists on starting to charge the controllers that are plugged into the station regardless of if they are fully charged. This happens when the Switch is turned on or off and even sometimes when adding a controller to the station. By this I mean that the station will continuously attempt to charge the controllers that are attached which will lower the over longevity of the rechargeable batteries. This in addition to any travel with the pro controller (due to the small required attachment) leave it just shy of perfect. ... show more
