  • Incredible feel and quality, incredible price
Color: Mist
This controller is great. I am a real human that owns and plays with this controller. That's the TLDR you're looking for. I've used this for 2-3 hours 5 days a week for the past month and a half on Apex Legends, Warzone, and Elden Ring. The only three negatives I can think of for this controller are that it 1) accumulates dirt/grime from your hands very easily (I bought the white one), 2) it is corded, and 3) it feels very very light when you first pick it up. I knew it had a cord when I purchased it, but there's simply no getting around the fact that cordless is the best option for a controller. The light, cheap feel of the controller goes away once you make it your primary controller. You won't care that a base xbox or an elite controller is heavier once you feel how the PowerA plays. Setting aside the grime and the cord, the joysticks and buttons on this controller all feel great. I would go so far as to say the joysticks feel MUCH better than the joysticks on the xbox elite 2 that I own. Joysticks on the PowerA are solid. They are a little stiffer than base xbox controllers, but they have really really minimal if any at all stick drift, and they are buttery smooth when performing 360s. Comparing it to the elite 2, I would also say the PowerA Enhanced controller has better rear buttons. Rear buttons are clearly the way to go instead of rear paddles. The paddles on an elite 2 are much slower to rapidly press than an actual button. And after 2 years, the elite 2 controller has completely fallen apart with wobbly joysticks, non functional RB and LB buttons, and rear paddles that activate 80% of the time. Unless I have to buy 7 of these PowerA controllers over the next two years, I would take the PowerA over the elite 2 even if you gave me one. I hope this controller holds up over the long term, but even if it fails, I won't feel bad at all buying a replacement because every xbox controller I've owned since the Xbox One launches has eventually failed on me. The xbox 360 controller was the last microsoft controller that I felt had good build quality. In summary, buy this PowerA controller. Edit: I'm sorry... I really forgot all about the headset issue with this controller. You absolutely cannot use a wired headset with this controller. It's a huge negative. I forgot about it because I upgraded my headset to a wireless model, which connects to the xbox directly and bypasses the controller and has zero problems. My friends were subjected to constant audio static when I used a headset that plugged in to the controller. The mute and volume functions worked, but any time you're unmuted, your friends/teammates will hear a constant static noise. You won't hear a problem at all, but everyone else will hate you. Use this controller with a wireless headset. ... show more

  • Incredible Build Quality Feels Extremely Solid
Color: Mist
The thumbsticks are built like tanks as that’s always been a weak area for standard official Xbox controllers, however this Power A Enhanced Xbox Series X/S Controller has super tight thumbsticks of which feel very strong, and much more durable as that’s what I like most about this controller along with the extra back buttons which are very nice to have for button remap, and they work great. The standard buttons xyba feel very clicks, and responsive again much better than the official Xbox controllers. The dpad is my only complaint as it’s super soft, and mushy feels like foam rubber or something as it doesn’t feel good at all as there’s no click, and feels much slower to push than the standard wireless controllers, however that’s not enough to rate this controller anything less than 5 stars because the quality just feels so strong in almost every way that’s important especially the thumbsticks because as I already said those are always the weakest part on official controllers which break so easily, have drifting, etc so we’re glad to have something which feels much better. The included 10 foot usb cable isn’t usb c so that’s something I’m not thrilled about since I’ve got a much longer usb c cable I could use but that’s not gonna work since it uses mini usb cable of which you can’t simply use any old cable you might have laying around because the fitting is made specifically for the included cable so that’s not favorable Although the one which came with ours fits very tight, and feels secure so no issues. ... show more

  • Solid Brand with Consistent Quality
Color: Mist
I like PowerA controllers, and I've owned several. They work great and feel good. I can definitely recommend them. *BUT* there is 1 big caveat I need to call out: Longevity. I'm not saying these fall apart and you should avoid them, but I have had consistent failures after about 18 months of use (which again, is maybe an ok life span, since they get used a lot). The most common mode of failure is a stuck button (almost always the A button, since it gets pressed the most in a lot of games, but I've also had it with X or B). It doesn't completely break your game, but if you need to double jump, for instance, and the button won't pop back up for half a second, that's a problem. Worse still, it indicates that button will die completely. They get to the point where you have to pry the buttons back up because they won't pop up. If you have multiple controllers, you can swap out some membrane and fix things, but it is a bit irritating to do. The second most common mode of failure is stick drift. This happens on every brand of controller I've had since the Nintendo 64, so it isn't unique to PowerA, and again the life-span for me seems to be about 18 months before something fails, so it's still a decent price. While you can take the controller apart and replace a stick to fix drift, it isn't as easy a fix as a button membrane, and the replacement parts are a little more costly, so it usually isn't worth the effort for a novice. Ok, so those last 2 paragraphs might sound disparaging, but keep in mind that: - I am still actively replacing controllers with this brand of controller because it's been better than other brands and lasted longer than other brands - I recommend this controller to people - I'm rating it 4 stars, which isn't bad - I love the feel of the buttons and triggers, so the build quality is excellent (whereas a lot of controllers have mushy buttons to begin with) ... show more
