  • USB-C port doesn’t work
Color: for Dewalt 20V
I just bought this and so far it’s pretty great. The AC plug and two USB-A ports work great. However the USB-C port does not work at all. I plugged in my anker 737 and I got an error message saying it was too high of a voltage and to unplug it right away. I then tried my MacBook Pro 13 and it would not even charge. Overall it’s pretty nice to have, just disappointing that the USB-C port doesn’t work, would of been nice to have ... show more

  • Junk Second one in a row that doesn't work. China Junk
Color: for Dewalt 20V
Ordered one and it would not work right out of the box. I returned it and asked for a replacement. Replacement came and worked the first time I tried it but then the next day it was also DOA. I never got to try the 120 volt portion of it as it would not turn on at all.

  • So nice in a pinch!
Color: for Makita 18V
This is perfect for camping trips or worksites where you don't have regular AC power but have some batteries from your tools handy. A regular Makita battery slides in (the standard 18v variety - not the newer 40v ones). You then have an on/off button on top, an adjustable light (movable physically up and down as well as 25/50/75/100% brightness), a USB-C port, 2x USB-A ports, and a regular three-prong power port. The battery fit is excellent - no wobble. I did try with a third-party battery too and it fits just as well as the standard Makita ones (and works with this device). The USB-C port can put out up to 20w and the other USB ports share 10w from what I can see (enough to charge your phone in good time, but probably not a laptop - the USB-C port would even probably show as fast charging). The light is surprisingly bright - you probably won't use it as a lantern replacement but you could light a tent at night or help illuminate for putting in screws or such quite well. The regular AC power port can handle up to 200w of steady load (or 400w of surge when it's first plugged in) - you could definitely charge a laptop (or two) with that. You won't be powering any microwaves or fridges or hair styling tools or such with this - only low-draw items. Chargers, laptops, a projector, a small TV, LED lights... those should all work. Keep in mind: the power conversion to AC power will lose some power (some 15-20% is normal going between AC/DC and back), so if you can use a USB/USB-C port then you'll get more out of your battery (ie for phone charging and such). How long your batteries last depend entirely on what you have plugged in - charging one phone is going to last a lot more than three phones and a laptop. The good news is you can just swap out batteries if you need to. Don't expect it to put out 200w for very long before running low - a standard Makita 5ah battery has some 90 watt-hours in it, so maxing out the 200w (taking into account the DC->AC loss) will get you about 20 min of power (by comparison using the full 20w USB-C will probably get you some 4+ hours). Thus this is more for quick uses or charging electronics. It's a great tool to have in the box though - I can see this coming in handy quite a bit. ... show more

  • This works surprisingly well and meets the specifications that I could test -- recommended
Color: for Makita 18V
I tested whether the USB-A outlets could supply 5V at 2 Amps, and they could. They could actually supply 3 Amps (on one port) -- much over that they shut down the power. I didn't have a way of seeing what happened with a big load on both ports. Interestingly, the voltage increased as the load increased -- to 5.25V at 3 Amps. The 120V outlet supplied 116V at 60.02Hz. I ran the load up to 205 Watts, and the both the frequency and the voltage remained constant (to within a volt or two). An internal fan came on -- presumably to keep the inverter cool. The light works, but I don't have a way of measuring the brightness. The only negative thing is the lighting on the power button. There are two pictures attached which show the power button when it is off and when it is on. The ring around the button is not completely illuminated and both the battery level indicator and the temperature indicator seem broken. The picture actually makes it look better than it is in reality. I had to take this picture in a dark place to get this result. The manual (for what it is) doesn't mention this display. I was using a 5.0Ah 18V Makita battery that was fully charged (and remained with all four bars showing on the battery itself). ... show more
