I installed this one on the drivers side after doing the passenger side last year (thanks Honda for the crappy design). The one I purchased last year continues to work fine. This one went in ok, but was a bit wonky for a day or two after installation. Specifically, the door froze in the closed position until I drove it around the block. It would then periodically lock up and then for reasons which are a mystery to me, it seemed to 'remember' what its intended purpose is and now works fine. Being a home mechanic and doing this install on the curb in front of my house, I didn't want to take the door apart again to find out what was happening. But since the problem (mysteriously) resolved itself, I'm not messing with it. If you are investing the time and effort in doing this yourself, buy the OEM part and save yourself the headache. ... show more

    • Actuator does not include linkage
This actuator assembly doesn't come with the linkage that connects to the outside door handle. You will need to remove the linkage from the old actuator and install it on the new one. It is extremely difficult to remove the linkage without damaging it. If I need to replace another actuator, I will pay the extra money for one that has the linkage. ... show more

    • Does not come with a new metal rod to attach to outdoor handle
Just like another reviewer pointed out, this product does not come with a metal rod that attaches to the outdoor handle. I noticed in several online tutorials that each of their new actuators included its own rod. Unfortunately this product does not come with its own rod. Instead I had to remove the old rod and place it onto the new actuator. This process was very difficult but eventually got it to work. After installation, the product worked great ... show more

    • Be aware that this is not an original Honda part.
The part is inexpensive and that's because it's not an original Honda part. My only problem with this item is that when it's installed properly, the door does not shut quietly. So if you're looking for a cheap fix and don't mind clanking when shutting the door, then this works fine.

I had it installed and the mechanic said it is made of a bit cheaper parts than original honda butthat it will work. I have had it in a month and it is good. thank you.

    • missing the weather seal
Missing the weatheer seal between the door latch to door frame. the nylon fitting that holds the door handle rod is way too loose, fell off during installation
