  • Wonderful for Child with Parental Supervision, Depending on Age of Child
I can only report what my son has told me. My granddaughter uses it with his supervision and both have enjoyed creating several pieces within just a week or two from hre receiving it as a Christmas gift. I'd classify that as a successful gift!

  • Kids love it.
We’ve had and used this pottery wheel for a few years. It’s held up nicely. Both my kids love making their own bowls. It has a right hand/left hand feature which allows for opposite rotation which is great for my family of lefties and righties. One tip: if the clay is too dry it’s hard to mold. Wrap it in a damp towel and let it absorb the moisture prior to use and make sure hands are wet or it will cause resistance. We’re happy with this product and are considering another so our kids can work independently together. ... show more

  • It's definitely a "beginners" pottery wheel
Overall it's a pretty good very basic "beginner's" pottery wheel -- good mainly as an inexpensive tool for learning the basic techniques such as centering. It has a pretty weak motor though and the wheel can easily stall, but after I replaced the motor with a more powerful one (http://www.amazon.com/6300RPM-Shaft-Magnetic-Motor-Hobby/dp/B00BG61S44?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00), the pottery wheel was easier to work with. ... show more

  • Faulty product
Gave this to my Granddaughter. Put it together and it wouldn't work. To much a hassle to send back so provided a learning opportunity for my Grandson. We took it apart and found a broken wire at the on/off switch. Repaired and good to go

  • Great!! No so noisy like everyone says
Ok...I have no idea what everyone else is talking about with the noise!! Lol Yes. It makes noise...it's a pottery wheel!!!! It is not unbearable...if someone is watching something or reading yes don't do it around them. Seems awesome so far! Simple, easy starter wheel!

  • It broke immediately with no use at all.
I bought this for my daughter's birthday, and since I was trying to spread out the expense of it, I purchased it very early. Now the birthday has passed, and she has gotten time to play with the toy. We set it up with a great deal of excitement. She was bubbling with ideas for the things she could make. We plugged it in, and she stepped on the pedal. The wheel turned for literally two seconds and stopped. She didn't even have clay on it. She wasn't touching the wheel. I don't see how she could have burned out the motor by pressing the pedal for a couple of seconds. Of course, the return window is long closed, and I have a very disappointed girl. Buyers beware. ... show more

  • Clay needs to be softened alot in order to mold.
The items the wheel came with were good in use. The wheel spun well and did stop when too much pressure was applied. It has been used twice by my 10 yrs old granddaughter . She says she loves it.

  • Good Child's Wheel
My 9 year old granddaughter had wanted a pottery wheel. After reading the reviews of all the "toy" wheels, I purchased this one. She was able to use it without a problem and made "wonderful' cups and bowls. No problems.
