  • Makes a good gift for kids, but not a wheel for learners
I’m surprised anyone is able to make anything on this. It came with good instructions but any kind of pressure stops the wheel from spinning. If you’re giving this to a kid to mess around and try their hand at shaping something, you’ll probably get your money’s worth of fun, but this wheel is impossible to center on which makes it impossible to make anything you would normally make on a wheel (cups, bowls, plates, you name it). I tried this wheel out for an hour, hoping I could attach a photo to this review, but I couldn’t get a decent piece going. What makes it a good gift (I’m guessing ages 6–12): - Comes with everything you need to make a piece or two - Air dry clay was soft and not dried out - Better than similar wheels in this range; more power, good instructions, accessories are decent - Simple knob function to adjust the speed - Rechargeable What makes this terrible for beginner potters: - Any pressure stops the wheel from spinning. Can’t center, cone, pull, etc. - Not sturdy, tips over with normal pressure - Only spins clockwise (for lefties, righties need the wheel to spin CCW) - Not enough power There you have it. I don’t recommend this if you’re interested in learning pottery, but I do recommend this if you’re looking for a fun gift for a kid. ... show more

  • Pretty good
Everything about it was amazing nothing was broken or damaged in any way! But it is kinda loud when it is spinning so if you or your child is sensitive to sound then this probably isn’t for you.

  • Worst pottery wheel ever!
I bought this for myself in an attempt to begin to try to learn how to make pottery. I definitely should have done more research on this product because upon arriving, when I turned it on, when I try to apply any type of pressure at all to the clay the entire wheel stops spinning. This completely defeats the entire purpose of a pottery wheel if anytime you push the clay it stops the wheel, so you literally cannot sculpt anything so I don't know how anyone can sculpt anything on these. Maybe a fun gift for kids just to play around, but they're not going to be able to successfully make anything and it would just hurt their self-esteem so I would never buy this for my child personally and I wish I never bought it for myself. ... show more

  • Better Directions
The product is great!! It could explain a little better how to use it for new users but other than that love it!!

  • Fun but flawed
This is a cute kitt to do really small things. Anything a bit larger becomes an issue because the motor is just too weak. The wife and I had a lot of fun during a rainy date night at home. We made lots of tiny bowls and cups and even a very tiny vase. Anything bigger though, and this came to a stop. I may keep this around for another day of making tiny things, but besides that it’s just so-so. ... show more

  • Good kit, but motor is way to weak to be useful
We tried to make a few bowls using this kit. It is complete and could be very fun. Our issue is the motor on the wheel does not have nearly enough torque to be useful. If you apply the slightest bit of resistance it just stops. I would not buy this if I really wanted a pottery wheel.

  • Good for kids, not adults
The media could not be loaded. The pottery wheel kit is good for beginners. It’s good for kids and teens, but I don’t recommend this for adults. Simply because the wheel isn’t the best. Yes it does have three different spinning options, but whenever I tried to shape my clay while it was in the wheel wouldn’t turn. I ended up giving this to my daughter and she loved with. I think this is a good kit for someone who have never used a pottery wheel and just wants to try as a little hobby. It does come with everything that you need to start your clay journey. Including paint which was a nice touch. But for the price I wish the wheel was made a little bit for stronger. Pros The wheel has three different spinning settings It comes with everything you need It comes with paint and brushes The shell can work without being plugged in Cons The wheel is too week ... show more
