I hadn't flown a "real" drone in over 2 years. I was going to get a DJI but the delivery date was too far out because I wanted a drone for a specific date. I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube and decided to gives this one a shot. Are the videos cinema quality? No, but they look good. The gimbal really does its job keeping the horizon steady and flat. I could see the drone fighting the wind but the videos have been smooth. It controls nice. The flight time is excellent. The auto flight modes work well and provide some nice options for pictures. This drone is definitely a solid pic for the price. I don't expect to be missing the DJI that I didn't buy. If I have one concern it would be that it seems like if it crashed from anywhere above 6ft it probably would break. No hitting walls with this one..LOL. ... show more

This is the first drone that I have ever flown. I am completely impressed! There is a little setup learning curve but once you have that figured out it is not only simple, but it is fun and easy to fly. The 3 axis camera is super steady and has an incredible picture for a drone at this price point. If you can afford the extra $100 for the fly more kit, I would recommend it as you will get the carry bag and an extra battery along with a few other accessories. Purchased the Atom 3 axis gimble fly more kit in February 2024. I have only put maybe 2 hours of flight time on this Drone as I have been busy with outdoor projects. Today I had some free time and thought I would get some Drone time in. When I powered on the Drone and entered the Potensic app, there was a Firmware update notice to version 3.4.5. I decided to go ahead with the update since I had a fully charged Batteries and Controller. After the update I noticed my Gimble would not stay in the neutral position and would drift all the way up on its own. So I powered everything off, exited the App and tried again with same issue. I tried calibrating the Gimble but it did not fix the issue. Tried calibrating the remote control and was not able to complete the process because the Gimble control did not respond correctly. Powered off everything again, this time I could complete the remote control calibration but the Gimble still would pan up all the way and would not hold the position set. Ok, I give up and try contacting Potensic support, we will see how good the Customer service is at Potensic. Everything else works like it should, just the Gimble issue. This a deal breaker for me because I bought this for the great reviews and image quality at the price I really hope Potensic will stand behind their product. I will update this review when/if I get a response from Potensic. After working with Potensic I decided this drone may be defective and returned it for a refund and went back to the drawing board to research another sub 249g Drone to purchase. UPDATE - Potensic reached out to me and offered to send me a new drone Kit with single battery to give the Potensic another try. Sure glad theyHorizoe received the new drone today 7/24/2024 and immediately started charging the Battery and Remote control. After a full charge I went thru and loaded the Potensic app, calibrated everything and went out to do some test flying. WOW! The Camera Gimble worked flawlessly, it did not move up or down by itself and the Horizon was dead flat. The video looked great, smooth and seemless. Battery life is very good and charges quickly. I went thru all the preconfigured quick shots, tried the GPS mapping, RTH feature, shot video at 4K 30fps, took pictures and I have to say this Drone really performs extremely well for the price paid. I am extremely glad Potensic reached out to me and asked me to give them another chance. So in conclusion, I would like to give a much deserved shout out to Potensic customer service for making EVERY EFFORT to add another happy customer to the ever expanding number of people who are flying Potensic Atom Drones, and thank you for not giving up on me! I would recommend this Atom Drone to family and friends and to anyone who is looking for a really fun quality Drone to fly! ... show more

Update: Potensic support worked with me to replace my defective parts and the drone is working flawlessly! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this drone over a DJI after experiencing the support that Potensic offers for the product. They were proactive, reached out to me to see how they could help, and solved the issue within a week and a half. They didn’t ask me to send any parts to them for inspection, or try to convince me it was user error, they just said we want to help and we’re sending you parts. Fantastic support in a time when good support is actually impossible to find. Original review: This is a really good drone, when it works. It’s competitive on the spec sheet with the DJI Mini 4k while priced a fair bit lower. It flies nicely. The mobile app is easy to use. The controller is comfortable in the hand. And the camera quality is right up there with more expensive drones. But, at least with my drone, it’s plagued by connectivity issues. And not the kind where it disconnects because I tried to fly it 3 miles away in a crowded city with lots of interference. But the kind of connectivity issues where it completely loses connection just 10 feet away from me in an open field. This is very reminiscent of an issue I had with a much more expensive Autel drone and it destroyed my confidence in the product. While auto return to home did kick in each time it disconnected, you’re then 100% relying on your RTH accuracy to ensure your drone doesn’t crash into anything as it tries to land. Not confidence inspiring. This isn’t my first time using Potensic drones. I used one of their WiFi drones a couple years back and in comparison this drone is an absolute dream. If the connectivity issues were sorted out this drone would be a winner and I’d love it over my DJI drones. But as it exists today I just have zero faith in this product and its ability to remain connected to my phone and the remote for the duration of a flight. And that’s a real shame. ... show more
