Description

The PORTER-CABLE PCC740B 1/2" cordless impact wrench, bare tool features a powerful motor which produces 330ft/lbs of torque for heavy applications. It offers a maximum of 1,650 rpm's for driving large fasteners quickly, with a full variable speed trigger for precision control. The 1/2" hog ring allows for quick and easy socket changes. It also has a pro grade lithium battery for long life and maximum performance, along with a led light which helps improve visibility in dark areas. This impact driver is designed with a chemical resistant housing for automotive friendly settings. It also offers the user over mold grips for comfort during use. This unit is lightweight and balanced at 6.0 lbs with battery, and it has a short length measuring 9.9" front to back.This is a bare tool item - battery sold separately. Backed by porter- cable.     • Good value, and a nice addition to anyone’s toolbox.
So far, so good. Used the tool for most of a day replacing suspension components, and I didn’t wear one battery down enough to matter. The tool with the expanded battery was a little cumbersome at first, but since it’s well balanced I got used to it quickly. There’s plenty of power, and it’s definitely easier than maneuvering an impact gun with an attached air hose. The work light does come in handy in dark corners but is too dim in daylight conditions. The grip is comfortable and easy to hold onto while removing tough, rusted bolts. The socket changes are a little tough at first just because the hog ring is new. After a few changes the sockets were easier to remove or install. I hope I won’t need it, but the 3 year warranty will likely be adequate. I definitely recommend getting two batteries for this tool or any battery operated tool. ... show more

Great impact driver for the money. I recommend the 20v 6.0 Amp Li-ion rechargeable batteries for this tool.

I bought 2 of these to add to my adult children's Porter Cable 20 volt tool sets. They have used them to rotated their tires. Both say the impact gun had plenty of power and are very happy with them. I waited on the purchase until I could read some long term reviews as to how does the tool hold up after a few years. The reports I read were good. The guns have a good solid feel to them and the gear case nosecone is metal not plastic. ... show more

I have other Porter Cable 20v MAX tools, so I stuck with the Porter Cable Impact Wrench. It works great for my needs. I've used it to remove lug nuts to rotate tires. My Honda CRV's lug nuts are put on with 85 ft/lbs of torque and this Impact Wrench zipped them right off. My son's Volvo torques the lug nuts to 103 ft/lbs and the Impact Wrench zipped them right off as well. I don't expect to encounter anything over 103 ft/lbs, so this Impact Wrench works great for me. My corded no-name brand 1/2 inch Impact Wrench could not loosen the lug nuts on my son's Volvo. This Impact Wrench is heavy. It is a good bit heavier than my corded Impact Wrench. It is a lot heavier than Porter Cable's cordless Drill Driver and 1/4" Impact gun. It is also much larger than the Drill Driver and just fits into the bag that came with the Drill and Impact gun. If you plan to use it for long periods of time, get the 5 amp hour batteries. I have the 1.5 AH and 2.0 AH batteries and the Impact Wrench drains them pretty quick. I was able to rotate the tires on 1 vehicle with the 1.5 AH battery and that's just removing the lugs. I don't use the Impact Wrench to put lug nuts on. ... show more

    • Torques my wheels to almost perfect spec
Got them to put on my wheels and they go to 100ft lbs and spec is 90 so a bit tighter than what the recommended spec is and I’m fine with that!
