We used these as “Passion Projects” in one of my classes. The students had so much fun! Of course following the directions to properly assemble the vehicles was difficult for some people but the others helped and then we tried to race them on carpet and on linoleum. I’m sorry I did not get pics or video. Some students used watercolor markers to decorate. Some experimented with structure to make them go faster. And one created hats for the vehicle (the one with two big wheels) and experimented with how the weight changed its performance. Great kits! I bought several different selections of these kits as projects for seniors to build for rehab purposes. They worked well for that and we donated the finished toys to a place that needed toys for underprivileged children. A good deal all around. The instructions were a bit wrong in places and any help would be in Chinese! Some kids (and seniors) would have trouble with soldering the wires. We gave these sets to our 8 yr old grandson who is interested in science. The kits had numerous projects and each one he has done has been a joy to him to complete (his Mom did assist). We commented that this.been a home run as a gift.

These kits have really gotten to be a fun activity for my boys (6 &8). The small screws may be tricky for them, but they genuinely enjoy building and using them.

    • hard even for pro adult
PROS- much cheaper than tinker crates etc which are very cool and teach kids a small skill or two but they never actually play with it again so these kits are a bigger bang for your buck. Also, so far the ones we have put together have worked (after a LOT of internet searches etc to figure out the instructions). CONS- So many tiny screws that have to go in tiny hard to get to places which will make you want to pull all your hair out in frustration. Instructions may have been translated to English from China?? Because they truly don't make sense AT ALL!! (ex/ "use a lighter to peel off all the wires"??! how is an 8 yr old supposed to take that?) I'm a super handy DIYer who has done hundreds of things like this and can BARELY help my kids figure these out also using internet searches. Conclusion, If you are a professional electrician or engineer that already know how to build all of these things and just need the wooden pieces, who also has tiny hands and tiny magnetic screwdrivers then this would be great! like I said, I'm pretty darn handy so we'll muscle through it but whoa (I bought different sets for each of my 4 kids so we have a LOT of frustration ahead of us) ... show more
