Color: Black
Love it. The most important things to make easier to learn, and it looks super cool and the white color is really beautiful.

  • interesting system
Color: Wood color
I've never played ukulele but this has at least given me a chance to learn. The instrument itself doesn't feel cheap and has good ergonomics with a nice finish that doesn't feel cheap. The kit itself comes with everything you'll need to start learning everything is of a good enough quality and you won't need to get anything else. The box has a little card with your code for the lessons so make sure not to throw it away. The main advantage of this system is the way the app and lessons interact with the instrument. The bridge lights up showing you the corresponding place to put your fingers on the fret board this helps you remember and correct mistakes while you are learning. There are lessons for beginners which start by teaching you the parts of the instrument chords and strumming patterns and more advanced lessons along with songs which are very fun to play. Over all it's a great instrument and a great program to learn with I don't think I would have gotten any where trying to learn without the lessons even with them it's hard. ... show more

  • Unusable in current model
Color: White
In order to use this ukulele, you need to be able to connect to the Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. This is spotty at best. In addition, the app is almost unusable. I only lasted less than 20 minutes total. While learning, you cannot speed up or slow down the songs, its an all or nothing speed. It is convoluted and not easily navigated. The "games" are a joke (again, no changes in speed). Song selection is mediocre at best and haven't been updated to current selections. The ukulele itself sounds very nice for what it is. Lightweight. The enya is scores better. There are NO fret markers! Neither on the neck on the frets nor on the side. As a beginner, this is a big mis-step. Also, the frets are plastic and low making using the frets difficult (they are black as well, which means you cannot easily glance and place your fingers). The lights for the fret board are white. While not bad, they should be in conjunction with what is in the app and color coded. So, if the forefinger is red in the app, it should light up red on the fretboard. This doesn't happen, leaving the player to guess correct finger placements (again, terrible for a beginner). I would NOT recommend this Ukulele as a beginner. At best it is a novelty item. ... show more

  • Cool beginner ukelele
Color: Wood color
This is my first ukelele, although I have played guitar for a bit. The instrument seems decently made, has decent sound from what I can tell. I like the look. It comes with everything you need to get started, including video lessons! I've only watched a few so far, but they seem comprehendable and useful. The app I'm not sure of yet. The few things I've done with it are a little tricky. The lights are cool, but I wonder if I'll end up dependent on them. Overall, I really don't have too much negative to say about this instrument! If you're looking for a starter ukele that can help you learn, this will do! ... show more

  • Overall nice
This uke is louder than I expected. It is made well for a carbon fiber uke, of which this is my fourth. Just for these features though it is not worth 3-4 times the price of another carbon fiber, so let's look at the other features. The onboard amp is just so-so. This is the big reason for the additional price tag. The volume does not make it any louder than it normally would be. The chorus/delay/reverb is cool to have without being plugged in but is not as pronounced as you would expect. I can hear it and it adds some flavor to what I'm playing, but it's no substitute for an external amp if you are playing for others. I like that you can recharge it via a type-C cord inside the sound hole. The lighted keyboard/interactive app program has its strengths and weaknesses. I got a popupiano before and I didn't like how that was set up as you follow the lighted keys and don't learn to actually read any music. At least this is better in that you have to learn the fingering for the chords, how to read their tablature, etc. You really do learn how to play with this program. Being an intermediate level player already, I haven't reached any lessons I couldn't pass first time, but I do fear that some would be easy for a beginner to get stuck on. And, note: you want to progress to not looking at your fingers as fast as possible, so this could be a crutch. There are also very few kid songs to learn with, so it's more for a teenager/adult. It paired easily with the program on my phone... note: it will use the microphone of your phone/tablet to hear what you are doing. It requires two separate AAA batteries, not the onboard rechargeable ones, to pair with the app, and they are difficult to remove after if you don't want to store them in it. But once you don't need the lighted fretboard anymore, you can leave them out and still enjoy the program without pairing it. The quality is decent for a carbon fiber, and it should last a long time. Is it worth the price. Well, if you are just looking to learn, they have a cheaper option without the sound effects, and personally I'd probably get that one as the sound effects don't seem worth the price to me. Their wood (cookie I believe it is called) model has a rechargeable battery to use with the app, whereas the carbon fibers require AAA batteries... so their lesser model may actually be more ideal for that. Just note that you may not find enough songs for younger children if that is who you want to get this for. ... show more
