    • Clean / balanced water to start year
Unfortunately, the weather / slow start to spring here on the CA central coast is preventing us from swimming, but this Pool Starter kit was great for helping me get the water into shape. With the test strips I verified / adjusted the pH / Alkalinity ranges. Followed up with the addition of the shock and algaecide and a thorough brushing was able to eliminate the winter / covered build up. Used the clarifier and vacuumed, ran the filter for a day and then cleaned out the filter. Water sparkles. Still haven 't used the stain / scale product yet as I want to use that right before doing additional work at the waterline. First time I've put a start -> stop process to start the year, usually just start that process of fixing one issue at a time. Hoping that starting the year in a condition as close to perfect as I can, will lead to less time wasted fixing one imbalance, only to end up needing to fix another. Pretty much everything in this kit you have either bought before, or have some in your pool shed - so nothing new or different. But what is really nice is to have it all on hand (don't have to worry about bottles with just a couple ounces onhand.) This kit has everything you need. All bottles and packs are full-size. I used mine as a tune-up kit, after my pool was already open. The clarifier was my favorite. Worked well and the Polly was absolutely sparkly!

Opened the product yesterday. Unfortunately there are no instructions, so I am pretty much taking an educated guess as to what order the products should be used.

I used this kit less as an opening treatment, and more as a touch up for our saltwater pool here in the southeast as we don't close our pools for winter here. I have used everything besides the pool starter and it all mixes very well. The algaecide is one of those things that won't reveal itself until an algae bloom pops up so the fact that we don't see algae means it's working. The same can be said for the stain and scale, I did notice some marks that were previously stubborn to remove did come out a bit easier after using the stain and scale, so take that for what it's worth. The star here is the clarifier as our water has a sparkle and shimmer to it that it didn't have before, out of all of the items in the kit we saw the biggest impact from this. ... show more

Pool opening kit includes everything needed to open your pool. Includes Algaecide, clarifier, shock, test strips, stain & scale, and a bottle of pool opener. My only suggestion is to include instructions on what order to add chemicals. All products seemed to perform well, and did not have the typical smell. Great value for the money. ... show more

nice assortment of items to start the pool up for the season, and a decent value as well as I needed most of these. no complaints really... one bottle did leak a tiny bit (of course the dark blue liquid) but its a box in a box and that item was in a bag in the box in box so .... not a big deal.
