Description

PolarPro VND Diffusion filter 2/5 stops Mist Edition 77mm PolarPro's combined VND diffusion filter corrects 2 to 5 stops of light, with the diffusion portion of the filter softening the digital focus for a smooth, ethereal look. This high-quality Mist filter is for camera lenses with a 77mm thread. The filter was created in collaboration with renowned videographer Peter McKinnon. VND Diffusion filter - Mist Edition With a variable ND filter, you have full control over the shutter speed in all lighting conditions. It also gives you better control, for example, over a smooth looking frame rate in slow motion during video recording. The four possible settings correct the light by 2 to 5 stops. This is equivalent to a ND4 to ND32 grey filter. This VND filter is ideal if you are shooting during sunrise or sunset, when the amount of light is diminishing. The diffusion part of the filter adds a dreamy and smooth look to the footage. It also gives a polished look to subjects without sacrificing contrast and colour accuracy. This soft look adds an extra layer of production value. Ideal for creative shots in documentaries, short films, music videos and other commercial projects. The golden perfection The filter is made of two pieces of PolarPro CinemaSeries glass that you can rotate over each other to let the desired amount of light fall onto your lens. The high-quality glass provides great optical quality and is completely colour-neutral. The gold- coloured aluminium mount has a laser-engraved stop indicator, so you can read exactly how many f-stops of light are stopped by the filter. When adjusting the ring to one of four settings, you feel a soft click at each stop. This haptic perception allows you to feel with your fingers that the filter has reached a different stop. This allows you to adjust the filter without taking your eyes off the camera's view finder. It also eliminates cross-polarization and vignetting, even at 16mm focal lengths. PolarPro's fog filter comes in a Defender360 case which can also serve as a lens cap. Because of the special lens cap you won't get fingerprints on the filter when you turn it on your lens. With the protective case you never have to touch the glass of the filter. The eco-friendly packaging of the Mist Edition II also includes a microfibre cleaning cloth in case you accidentally touch the glass.

  • Much better than the 6-9 stop
Style: Single
The 6-9 stop is WAY too dark, even for outdoor filming. This 2-5 stop is PERFECT for indoor AND outdoor use. Now I can get the shots I want with perfect exposure, clean edges, indoors or outdoors!

  • Try the 2-5 stop 1st
Style: 6/9 stops Mist
Great product, however I shoot outdoor sports at all times of the day and I’ve come to realize 6stops can be a bit much. My favorite feature might be the travel case/FilterCap

  • Is very weak “ fragile “

I drop my filter from my chair and it already broken… it is the second time I lost a polar pro filter … why the material is so bad … and glass is good ?

  • Awful Green Color Shift
Style: Single
From a professional stand point this is awful and very sad to see from such a highly rated filter. Decided I would pick up this VND since it's all anyone talks about when it comes to the market of VND. Took it out on a client project recently and come to my surprise, every single piece of footage is ruined by this awful and ugly green color shift. Not a single piece of footage was salvageable from the shoot. Even when shooting in shadows as you can see in the stills, it gave an awful color shift. Tried color grading for hours trying to fix it but there was no use. I wouldn't recommend this filter to absolutely anyone. ESPECIALLY not for client work or any sort of a professional manner. ... show more

  • Not worth it
Style: 2/5 stops
Still getting crazy color shifts and vignetting in the corners at 24mm. Not worth it imo, going to invest in another system
