Color: Chorus

Features

  • [Chorus Effect] The POGOLAB chorus pedal can stimulate the pure line chorus and achieve a fresh and broad chorus effect with a classic BBD chip.
  • [Chorus Tone] The chorus effect is a kind of effect that uses the BBD circuit to mix the sound with the original sound after delay and pitch shift and output a soft and wide effect similar to the mixed chorus
  • [Durable Construction] This guitar pedal is well-made and durable, made of aluminum alloy. There is an indicator light to clearly show the working state of the pedal.
  • [True Bypass] True Bypass switching design allows the signal to go through the pedal while remaining intact. Pressing the footswitch to turn effects on or off.
  • [Easy to Use] As most pedals run on DC adapters, this pedal is powered by DC 9V (center negative). The cable and adapter are NOT included. One up and running, connecting via the sturdy, and tough-looking connectors on the side of the pedal, one in, and one out, the pedal is easy to use.

  • Decent distortion, misleading description
Color: Distortion
The POGOLAB distortion pedal is a pretty neat pedal. It sets out at what it wants to do--be a budget pedal with simple, straightforward settings. In practice, I really couldn't find much wrong with it. The knobs were smooth and sturdy, and the same could be said for the rest of the unit as well. Solid build and responsive, even despite the extremely small form factor. Seriously, this thing is tiny. However small you're thinking it is, think smaller. Of course, the sound is what matters the most, and it still sounds serviceable, especially for less than $30. Having adjustments for treble and mid frequencies is a great touch, but it would have been nice to see a bass parameter as well. The bad news is that for a distortion pedal, this guy struggles at high gain. Lots of unwanted artifacting with this pedal when you crank it up past 75%. At lower gain, it can sound pretty nice and give you some warmth and saturation on a clean tone, or give you a decently heavy rock tone. My problem with it struggling at high gain is really because it mentions AC/DC and Metallica in its description (and even on the box itself). I can't think of two bands whose guitar tones are more different than AC/DC and Metallica. It can do AC/DC fine, I guess (this sounds somewhat akin to a Marshall stack, to my ears) but heavier metal tones are not this pedal's forte, despite what the description says. But for the price, maybe you could get pretty close. I know that's nitpicky for an otherwise perfectly useable pedal. If you're starting to experiment with distortion pedals, you could do a heck of a lot worse than this one. Consider me impressed! (but if you can save up $30-$50 more, the DS-1 or SD-1 from BOSS would be infinitely better options) ... show more

  • Classic compression tones at a savory price point
Color: Compressor
I've been in the market for a more flexible compressor pedal since I realized that in order to get the best sounds from a certain boutique (emphasis on that K sound) model on my board, I would have to take the back off and adjust a trim pot each time I switched guitars. Many compressors have just two knobs - Sustain and Volume, or similar names. The Sustain controls the how much signal is boosted (or compressed) to approximate a certain level, and Volume controls overall output volume. This one, which seems like a pretty good variation of a well-known Mass-produced yet eXcellent compressoR, also includes an Attack control which adjusts how quickly the effect kicks on. You can preserve the natural envelope of your pick attack for a subtle sustain boost, or squash it right down for classic country chicken pickin' or Trey tones. As far as build quality, this is on par with any other mass produced effects pedal. All metal enclosure, firm true bypass stomp switch, and smooth yet firmly turning pots. I opened up the back plate to find that there is a daugherboard with the stomp switch and jacks mounted, and behind it is the actual effects PCB. This seems pretty sturdy. I've used this compressor with an LP and shredder style humbucker guitars, as well as with T style and an LP Jr with a P90. There are settings available to squeeze the best tones out of all of them. If you don't have a compressor yet and want to try one out, or if you're looking for a small form factor, give this a try! ... show more

  • A great sounding analog delay for a great price
Color: Delay
This is a really fun little analog delay pedal. A lot of times, a delay pedal at this price point can color your original tone when the effect is on. This is not the case with this pedal thanks to the high input impedance (1M). I also like that the mix knob doesn't blend the dry and effect signal. What I mean by that is the original (dry) signal will always stay at unity and the mix knob just adds in the delay effect gradually as you turn up the knob. Having said that, I do wish that the delay signal was just a tad louder at the maximum mix level. Currently, it's not a bad balance between dry and effect signals and it doesn't let the level of the delay effect get too out of hand, volume-wise, when it starts to go into oscillation. Speaking of which, the delay pedal can create some out-of-this-world sounds when you set it to oscillate at maximum repeat and play with the time knob of the pedal. I'm very happy with this pedal and I will upload a video soon so you can hear what this pedal sounds like. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • POGOLAB Overdrive is a great tube screamer alternative
Color: Overdrive
This review is for the POGOLAB Overdrive mini-pedal, and I love it a lot. I'm swapping out my Behringer tube screamer for this one for a few reasons: First, it has a bit of a thicker, fatter sound than the Tube Screamer. I tried to match Tone, Drive and Level, and no matter what I do, the Pogolab has less twang and more of a fatter sound. The tone switch (while not drastic) also flips between two tones. It's not quite at the level where you could flip the switch for solos, but it is nice to have the options. I love the mini form factor and the fact that power is along the top. This is a great cheap overdrive pedal! ... show more
